The insert to form the recess had not been removed from the side of the boat yet.
If it was part of the mold you wouldn't be able to get the hull out of the mold.
I think there are really only for a unique look.

Vary nice Pantera!
I can’t wait to see the new deck…

bouyhunter 03-18-2008 04:44 PM

JO - PANTERABOATS 03-18-2008 10:34 PM

Thanks Guys !! I will post better pictures tomorrow. We are very excited on the new changes going on the Pantera 28' model now. WE also have new dashes for the cockpit completed.

Would like to dump the headers out the hull sides but if we need to do mufflers for Scott the pipes will go out the transom.

The recessed hull sides are "optional" so a customer may order the new 28' "twin stepped" with or with out them. I have been wanting to do this for over 2 years now so I am very excited to final see this coming together.

Also customers have the option of ordering a new 28' with the TS bottom or with the full 24 degree deep V version.

My plans are to put in a few hidden LED lights so the sides can be lit up at night to give the boat a true custom look while night boating or docked at your local hot spot.

We will also make up some trick looking aluminum plates for the recessed sides. Custom paint can be added to the recessed sides even though I like the clean simple look for now. I am thinking Silver metalic hull sides and maybe the recessed area in a charcoal gray color to accent it.:cool-smiley-011:

The hull sides are also 2 1/2 inches shorter now near the transom due to the twin stepped bottom.Looks real nice and changes the look of the hull.

New twin stepped bottom with notch transom should be very fast !!!!

Post more pictures soon.

Regards,

JO

Jo & Pepe ,

The hull looks great as usual !! You guys continue to pump out an awsome product that seems to be getting better & better with age... ( no offense there old man :p) LOL....

In my opinion it is hard to improve upon what you guys already have with the 28 but I will say that I beieve the new bottom is going to be sweet & you guys are heading in the right direction ! Congrats on the new birth !!!!!!!!

JO - PANTERABOATS 03-18-2008 10:49 PM

Thanks Scott. I think you are going to need 1 of these new 28 TS in the near future with a pair of high HP small blocks.

Here are 2 pictures I took this afternoon. We put the deck on the hull to take a few measurements to ensure the fit with the new twin stepped bottom. Also doing cosmetic work on the recessed hull sides and windscreen.

w/ the lower freeboard aft, you still think you got room for twin sbc in there? maybe a modified race hatch needed?

JO - PANTERABOATS 03-19-2008 05:25 PM

MY COLORS!!! I think that would look incredible on that boat.
It doesn't need too much flash, needs a Classic look because the lines on the hull already do the talking.

JO

Looks like she's moving along in the triple digit's and she's just sitting on the cradle:D

JO - PANTERABOATS 03-19-2008 05:40 PM

Hi Kirk,

I was just talking with my Father this afternoon about your 1100TPI in this new 28' TS.:cool-smiley-027:

Bouyhunter,

Thanks, It does look fast sitting there !!! Looks much better in person. I cant wait to see it once it is all together 100 %. We are going with Livorsi monster " Carbon " silver gauges with black bezels on the new dashes including a GPS. Scott decided on polished pull up cleats with black bezels.

JO

I don't know if anyone else is paying attention, but what's that huge thing in the "bag" in the background! :D

Sydwayz 03-19-2008 06:14 PM

Congrats and good luck to everyone involved.

Have you guys got paint lined up for that boat yet? We're still willing to help.

36TS:D
They were prepping for layup when I was down there a month ago.

Also a couple pics of a 36 that was in layup of Bulkheads and stringers.

TexomaPowerboater 03-19-2008 07:25 PM

Sweet, the recessed hull fits great with the lines of the boat. Good Job.

Kickass photos Tim! I thought it might be a 41. Is the plastic just for covering or are they vacuuming the boats now (seems thin for vaccuuming but what do I know)?

You may be right.
I may have jumped the gun in answering that question.
From the perspective of the shop, that is where the 41 mold was sitting, and it's hard to compare the distance between the new 28 and the mold.
Wasn't sure if maybe they move the mold to another area of the shop to do Gel and Lamination. But, looks like the 36 to me.

I haven't heard of another 41 going into the mold yet.
None-the-less, the 36 TS layup looks good too.:D
