Hey Jo / Pepe: Does the new bottom still have a 24 degree deadrise or is that changed with the install of the step bottom insert in the mold?
|
Same deadrise as before.

Hey Jo,
Can you share how you determine where to put the steps? Is the theory behind the steps to airrate the bottom and add lift? or to make for less wetted surface? or both? Formula claimed to gain 7 to 10% speed when they created the fastec bottom on their 27 so I'm sure you see at least that type of increase, probably more. You will have a winner new 28' hull I'm sure! Have you started another? I'm sure they are going to sell like hot cakes...:cool-smiley-027: |

JO, what engine setup for the #000002 28TS? Mange |
That boat has a nice looking bottom. Its gonna be fast:) How much deadrise does it have?
Thanks Gary |
24 degree. And it will be fast, especially with a TPI engine in it!!!
As soon as this hull hits the water, we see some performance numbers, their might be a new order placed!! Love the 36, but dont really have a need for that large at this time. |
I'll bet that hull runs unreal numbers! If you look at the transition from front to rear of the bottom from that side view on the dollies, wow! It makes me want to take a plane flight and see it in person. Imagine that hull with a fairly light lay up. I am really looking foward to seeing it run. It will run:D
We need some more Pantara's out here on the West Coast! |
GT : Why don't you offer your 848 for testing.....
|
Who wants it? I have one almost done for stock? I might be up for that:) Just have to say the right word.

Jo:
I think one of these would look and price great in that new 28 TS, whata you think? Best regards, Ray @ Raylar |
Nice build Ray. The Powerboat article was well done.
|
Hi Ray,
That motor looks great !!! Like the green color. I will give you a call this week. JO |
Ray, How do you think a pair of your LSM 550's would work in a 28 Pantera? :) Doug
|
If someone orders one, my guess is an honest 100+ mile an hour 28 foot deep V Pantera. I am sure Joe and crew would have to work on the weight distribution for a perfect CG for this stepped hull but the results would be awesome!
Hope someone will come forward and order one, I know Joe and Pepe are itch'in to build one! Best REgards, Ray @ Raylar |
yea, those twin small blocks in a 28, that might be SMOKIN NICE:cool-smiley-011:
|
Ther is a 28' w/ twin 525 EFI Mercs that belongs to OSO member Sonny Bonnaccio that runs "real" close to 100 mph up in Lake George, NY.
W/ a stepped bottom it should run way over 100 mph! Later, pp. |
The Small Block 550's would be great in a 36 also. You could probably do a full stagger AND have an extended cockpit 95 +++mph boat with some ITS 1.65's sportmaster shorties turning 34 or 36's
|
Pepe / JO,
Any updates? //Mange |
