We are very excited since this morning we began a new era for the Pantera 28' model consisting of our new "twin stepped" bottom design, recessed hull sides , new cockpit dashes, plus a few other new changes.

We are expecting a big increase in performance with this new bottom design plus the other new cosmetic changes will give the Pantera 28' a very unique look !!

Post more pictures in the coming days.

Regards,

JO

Can't wait to see the completed version and the performance numbers. Looks like a modified/mini notched transom also.

Pat McPherson 03-06-2008 06:54 AM

Good Luck with your new product JO!
It's going to be fun to watch this baby come to life.
Please keep the pics coming…

If I may ask, what is the theory behind the V type notch in the transom vs. a straight one?
Also, how will you form the recessed sides?

Pantera24 03-06-2008 08:51 AM

Guys I was at the factory yesterday and saw the new 28' and all I can say is WOW!

Truly...amazing design.

BY U BOY 03-06-2008 11:20 AM

Boat looks great guys.....nice to see the innovation.

Should be a good boat for the Bimini run.

socalstone 03-06-2008 12:11 PM

What motor is going in #1?

The 1st Pantera 28' TS will be powered by a single 525 EFI.

Here are a few pictures of the recessed hull sides going in this afternoon. The recessed hull sides are incorporated into the lamination. It is very important to be precise on where they are located since it is a 1 time deal. We mad a jig off an existing 28' sitting here on the floor to use as a referance in locating the parts into the hull mold.LED lights will be incorporated into this design to give the boat a very unique look while boating at night.

JO

TexomaPowerboater 03-06-2008 04:35 PM

Wow

LED lights in the recessed hull sides......are they going to be navigation lights (i.e. one side red one side green)? I think if I saw one of these at night coming at me I would probobly shut my pants :hitfan: This will truly be the most innovative 28ft boat on the market. Congrats to you Jo, raising the bar that much higher. Keep it up and you'll run the competition out of business.

bouyhunter 03-06-2008 05:22 PM

Very Cool!!
I remember seeing the recesses had already been laid up - or at least prototypes - when I was there a few weeks ago, and I was wondering how you were working them in. Should make for a very cool look!
I like the idea of the LED lighting - though, under navigation, there are twists and tangles there...
I had that idea years ago (not LED, but some type of lighting - neon or something) but I was probably 12, and I thought it would be cool while I was watching Miami Vice...
Keep the pics coming, I'll enjoy watching the build!

Full Throttle 525 03-06-2008 06:51 PM

Very nice JO and Pepe...Can't wait to see the final result. I'm sure Scott will be very Happy!!

Pat McPherson 03-06-2008 07:08 PM

Neat Stuff for Sure!
Will this boat have sit down seats or stand and sit seats?

JO - PANTERABOATS 03-06-2008 10:58 PM

Thanks guys on the compliments. Pat, boat will have stand up bolsters with drop outs.I will post more pictures in the next few days of the new cockpit dashes.

Hey Jo, nice talking to you at the boat show!

What's the idea of putting the recesses in when the mold is gelcoated and laminated already and you will have to cut them out later ie. why not put them in before coating the mold?

This will be one BAD PANTERA!:D:evilb::evilb::evilb:

Will it be possible to modernize the standard hulls by putting in the steps or is there something that says you cant? Weight distribution, notch etc?

JO - PANTERABOATS 03-07-2008 08:28 AM

The way I did is, after I had the skin Matt layed up. I lined up the pc. in the hull, the reason I did it like that, is that to just set the recessed pc in the mold, there is no way that it can be held in place while the mold is being sprayed and laminated w/ the skin coat, w/o having to "scar" the hull mold.

Boat building is equivalent to a chef, different chefs have different ways to prepare the food for different tastes.
What works for me does not have to work for somebody else!

Later,
Pp.

PS, That will conclude "boat building 101" for this week!

Congratulations, Pantera!!!!!

Knowone builds a stronger boat in it`s class. This will be the next best 28 Pantera ever. If the 28 Pantera was always on top on all the 28 polls, imagine now with TS. I would call the fastest TS, (28 Twin Step Mig).

Albert, I have a great idea.......If you still have that MONSTER of a motor and Pantera gets a rigged one ready wwwweeeeeeeelllllllllllllll why dont you guys get together and try to set some sort of speed record so that thay can launch that new bad boy with the heading THE FASTEST 28 (?) ......

just a thought.........or is it that I would want to find out how fast you guys could get them to go....

let me know if you guys need help I'll be there.......and by the way Pantera has the best 28 around.....

Andy,

Andy, I still have the Mig motor, it is in the Cigarette since the worlds in Key West. I dont think the T/S model needs a beast like mine to set a record. It is going to be fun for Jo to play with new toy.

Good Question Tomas! I was wondering the same thing can you take an already built hull and add steps? I don't know if I'm digging the recessed hull sides just yet, but if I could just put steps in mine that would be awesome.

For some reason I don't think you can so let us know Pepe or JO?

Elite Marine 03-07-2008 06:17 PM

I have a motor for the TS!!! :evilb:

socalstone 03-13-2008 05:21 PM
