Monster guages,.... man, I wanted to do those big time but they wouldn't fit right.
I can't wait to see the new helm....come on Jo stop holding out on me :D All this dang boat building stuff makes me want to start a new project. Maybe I should just let my membership expire for a while until this "falling off the wagon" feeling passes:hitfan: |

No BS. That's the best looking boat I have ever seen! Beautiful job! Jo, you better post a thread in the "general discussion" forum to let the rest of the world know what's about to enter the marketplace. (cheap advertising!)

Here are a few more pics. I took this afternoon. The deck is coming back off on Monday to complete some glass work for a few days. All the measurements were perfect !! We also fitted the new dashes onto the deck. Look great !!
Scott, I am thinking silver metallic sides with a charcoal gray fade in the recessed hull sides and a charcoal gray accent stripe near the transom that would run over the sunpad and onto the other side. I will have to put together a drawing next week and see what it looks like to show you. For the upholstery two tone "carbon vinyl" with silver and charcoal gray color combination. New silver carbon Livorsi monster gauges and black bezels .It is your call !! I want you to be happy and satisfied 100 %. Regards, JO |
i like the new dash, almost comes to the top of the fairing.
good use of space. |
Rob,
New dashes do run up all the way to the windscreen. Monster gauges with GPS in the center. JO |

I was thinking of putting up this thread on GD but not sure whether to wait until the boat is further along. Can this same thread also be transfered over to GD or does a new one need to be started ?

wass up , is that 28 ts going to be a sit down boat ?
it seem to have very low freeboard and would be perfect for a sit down speedster mike |
Hey Mike,
This new 28' will be a stand up boat with drop outs. In the near future a sitdown boat will be in the works with a seamless finish ( no rubrail ). JO |
Hey JO:
Boat looks awesome!! It will be really nice to see the performance numbers compared to mine. Hope all is well. Ron |

Now we talking! A side to side dash, half cabin, sit down, rear seat cover, my Arrow 572/875 engine, all black. There you have my 28 Twin step Pantera!
Take a look at how Donzi did it on their 38 ZRC with removable neck rests to be able to mount the rear seat cover plate. |
no rub rail looks sweet.

Would like to dump the headers out the hull sides but if we need to do mufflers for Scott the pipes will go out the transom. JO Love the new boat. Reasons not to send the exhaust out the hull sides. -Aims the exhaust noise toward the shore. No big deal on the ocean but much more important on lakes. -Makes a beautiful sounding V8 sound like a poorly tuned 4 cylinder. Donzi & others messed with this exhaust out the sides in the 80s and abandon it thankfully. It sounds so bad. The biggest market was in selling the crossover pipes to try to get it to sound better. They didn't help enough. Chris Craft is about the only one I can think of still doing it and it sounds awful. My 2 cents for whatever its worth.... Very respectfully, Pismo |
We have huge noise issues on our inland lakes and though it would look great, I think he's right, the noise factor wouldn't be worth it for us.
I guess the customer always has the option. Is that boat running yet? Sea trial?? I might have to hop on a plane when its ready! |

If it was being built for me they would dump out the hull sides because I do not mine the noise and we do not have any real big noise issues here in Miami.Plus I like the way they look !!
That is why we are a custom boat builder and build the boats to our customer's exact specifications. I understand the noise problem in certain areas of the country. There are many current race boats dumping their headers out the hull sides. Here is a picture from 1977 with my Father's 24' with the headers dumping out the sides. Look above the rubrail near the rear bulkhead. Regards, JO |

Jo, the moderator of this section should be able to transfer this to the GD area ... otherwise PM OSO and request.
BTW, killer boat :) |
I agree that dumping the exhaust out the sides is very cool, But it would restict me from going to a few harbors off the coast of Cape Cod, the Nantucket boat basin and Oak Bluffs on Marthas Vinyard both have noise restictions....
