I know it isn't a direct comparison; obviously Pantera has played the shell game multiple times and Fountain had millions of $ in debt so they're very different cases to be sure....but there are a few parallels.
I'm just curious why the court of public opinion seemed to give Fountain a pass when they went out owing creditors more than all of the Pantera bankruptcies put together.
For the record, I don't think either company did the right thing.

No, but when Fountain declared bankruptcy for the first time in 2009 they listed assets of only $50k (and millions in liabilities). Meanwhile, the Fountain family was living large; big house, plenty of toys....much like the Nunez family has been accused of.

HOWEVER. What is happening at Pantera is different in many ways. They have a history of BK and fraud, and used this last BK to stiff and protect them from ONE, yes ONE customer that paid in full!
I guess Berk extended credit to pantera when he prepaid for the boat, and that was a mistake. I have just never heard of such a thing, I have seen businesses go down but still find a way to take care of the customers.

I don't think either company did the right thing either. How about the Automakers BK? Didn't seem right as well.

I have owned 2 Panteras, a 1995 24SE and a 2005 28 which I still have and will say that I truly love... I have read every single post on this board and I have also become friends with a few of the people who have purchased new Panteras and I can tell you without a Shafow of a Doubt that every one of them were Night Mares... I am not trying to Stir this Pot, but both of my Dealings with Pantera Did Not go very well and I have been waiting for Promisses Made to me by them since 2007... I am trying to stay out of this Thread to the best of my ability and I am sure that some of you are going to Bash Me and that's Okay, but what Pantera has done to their Customers over the past many years is just Plain Out Bullsh*t... DO NOT FOOL YOURSELF, they are totally AWARE of what they have done and are still going to do to ALL and ANY New Pantera Boat Owners...

I assume that the 1 customer that you are referring to that has Paid for his new Pantera 28sr In Full is Scott... I was also under the impression that Berk had also Paid In-Full for his new boat, if so that is 2 customers who are on the Short End of the Stick and probably will never see their New Boats or a Single Dime from Pantera...

I applaud you for being a pantera owner and not having blind loyalty. How anyone can defend these guys is beyond me. Being a fan of a product (it is a good product IMO) should not make you forget ethics, class, and honor.

Stockholders, banks new the risk it part of the game. Pantera is telling people "we can do an over the winter build" when they have not finished boats from two years ago.
I trade stocks most of the time I make money once in a while I get burned it happens its how the game is played. But when you put a deposit down on a boat thats supposed to be done in six months and two years later they don't even have an engine for it sorry thats different.
