Nate,
I have seen that guy who needs help finding his boat. It is really nice of you to be so kind to your "special" friend. He's the guy with the jon-boat and trolling motor right?

Hello Dennis et al;

Sorry went missing for awhile. Had to venture over to the east coast for a day and a half. Back at my post now. Sundays forecast is looking better each time you post. Temps are inching up and winds are laying down. I would think 12MPH out of the North West should not be a problem for you.
I would say 2 to 3ft max wave hight and less as you get the protection from Sanibel. Certainly looking better.

Just not sure which boat. There is a great looking Top Gun on Marco. Met him two years ago at Sarasota poker run but lost touch. The one I have in mind has his boat on a lift on the way into the Esplanade that I mentioned awhile ago. I will try to track him down soon and let him know about our plans.

Here's the lates wind and wave report from NOAA. In my experience, if NOAA is predicting 2-4 footers, count on 4-6 footers. If they are predicting 5-7 footers, as they are forecasting for offshore waters on Saturday and Sunday, beware.

Sorry I cannot make this run. Have great, safe fun. I'll think of you Sunday.

Tom

This Afternoon
Southeast winds 5 to 10 knots becoming south 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 feet or less near shore and up to 2 to 3 feet well offshore. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Chance of showers through the day. Chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Tonight
South winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 feet or less near shore and up to 2 to 4 feet well offshore. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Showers likely.

Saturday
Southwest winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 24 knots. Near shore...seas 2 to 3 feet building to 2 to 4 feet in the afternoon. Well offshore...seas 2 to 4 feet building to 5 to 7 feet in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. Showers likely and chance of thunderstorms.

Saturday Night
Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots becoming north 10 to 15 knots after midnight. Gusts up to 30 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet near shore and up to 5 to 7 feet well offshore. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. Slight chance of showers.

Sunday
North winds 10 to 15 knots decreasing to 5 to 10 knots in the afternoon and evening. Near shore...seas 2 feet or less. Well offshore...seas 4 to 6 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet in the afternoon and evening. Bay and inland waters a light chop.

My weather forecasting consists of looking at the gulf through my front windows. I may not be good at telling you what is coming but I can be exact at that moment.
