I believe any non-Danny built Powerplay would only be a fraction of the quality of a Danny built boat.....

Does that mean the Cigarettes of today are not as good as the ones built by Arronow?
You just need the right person/people to build them with the same passion for detail as before.

We had some real bad weather here on Turkey Point Island last night, tree's down everywhere and power just came back up down for almost 20 hours.... The Beautiful 38 PowerPlay that lives down the street at the Marina had it's covered slip ripped off the pillings and hit the boat several times before going airborn into the adjacent Marina!!!! The owner is beside himself he cares for that boat with a toothbrush and a rag in his hand to make sure it's in great condition....

Not sure Don Aronow was real concerned with boat quality in his heyday. He was selling durable delivery boats just long enough to sell the company and then start all over again.

Both he and Kramer would laugh at a customer complaining about the stitching on the seats, the fit/finish of the boat, etc. just the normal stuff builders have to address today.

No one is going to have the passion that Danny had building Powerplay boats (except Steve 1 of course!).

already at the paint shop, a buddy of mine is going to do the repairs, mostly cosmetic, it will be perfect again in a few weeks!!!

we had a tornado touch down in my neighborhood, over 50 trees down 5 sars hit by trees and a 40 Formula that was on a trailer... Marina damage as well.

Jassman 06-24-2010 06:52 AM

sorry to hear that...I got upset when I found a stone chip after trailering to an event.

That wasn't a stone chip, it was parts falling out of your FORD! :D

LOL.... 173k and still going.. not bad for a 6.0 litre...but this new 6.7 that I have been using is worlds better than my 6.4... I am so pleased, mileage is averaging 18 with the 3.55 gears, and acceleration is like a 125hp chip on the 6.0 litre dooley. Fit and finish is also very good, and they did something with the suspension to be more compliant with the road, less stiff, and the driver seat is more comfortable, which I had no complaints there...

JeffC 06-24-2010 09:31 AM

Hey Jass, Some of these pics look like they might have been in pats shop is there any connection with AT and Power Play?

Steve, I've been meaning to take the time to read this entire thread but haven't yet. I had story I wanted to post and after scanning over your first ten posts on this thread I think you're going to know who I'm talking about.

I'm standing on the beach of Beaver Lake in Rogers, Arkansas one Saturday afternoon hanging out with some friends. My
26' Scarab is anchored just off the bank about 50' or so. (I didn't like beaching it) This guy was swimming and playing with some kids next to us. A few minutes later he approached me and started asking about my boat. Keep in mind he was a little sketchy looking and would have probably scared off a normal person. He was very interested in my boat and how it was built. I thought this odd. After about 20 minutes of shooting the bull he proceeded to tell me he used build and rig boats for Powerplay. Asked me if I had heard them. I quickly replied "yes".

Looking this gentlemen over I wouldn't have bet $.02 he was telling the truth. He told me he went by the name "Chickenhead". After seeing your comments in post #8 of this thread I now see he was telling the truth.

Small world....

Buck

Not that I know of.. I know when my boat was being built Danny was borrowing a few parts from Pat, and I imagine back and forth both ways...Steve would know more.
