That's why I'm asking questions before doing it.

But as mentioned above the main difference in the FS is that they cut the diffuser off right from the start.

Finding one already modified will probably be as hard as finding a used FS. So asking questions to see if anyone has done it and how it worked.

Cut it off on a lathe and test. If it doesn't provide wanted results just weld it back on. (prop shops do this) If results are to much chuck it back up in the lathe and incrementally machine some off and test.

Also, your numbers are off. Those calculate to a high efficient race catamaran. js

I'd thought about that too. 👍

It'd be a sphincter clutching moment when you get ready to touch that lathe tool to the prop...

I'll put it on a shaft that's chucked on one end and have a tail stock in the other. That way it's trapped and can't come flying out. With any luck I'll find someone local with a bare prop shaft to use.

I would take a little off and see the results. If it works take a little more off and repeat.

I've been reading up on this prop on the Mercury website...it seems as if the removal of the diffuser ring from a stock Bravo wouldn't necessarily have any REALLY adverse effects...
