My 27' Fountain wouldn't plane at all after going to a prop with no diffuser. It would blow out at 10mph no matter what you did.

Here's my 3 cents. I have a Checkmate Convincor 270/496HO and had BBlades lab B1-24p.
Jumps on plane just as fast
doesn't porpoise as much under 45mph with out tabs
Never needed tabs above 45 as with any prop. tried
Feels like has slightly more slip through mid range
needs less +trim when compared to stock
Picked up 1-2mph and also 1-2 faster than Mirage+ 23p
5/8" was removed
So on mine it's a win-win

Use a smaller diameter prop , 3-4 blade don't matter. Those hulls hate big dia props to much stern lift. Back in the day used a big dia 4 blade and boat wouldn't react to trim much and ran nose heavy. The 220 hulls love trim. 25 mirage 3 blade was best runner.

I have cut off the diffusor ring by BBLades on twin Bravo 32Lab. The boat dont came in plane without the rings. I welding on a tube and the boat came in plane again. The boat have imco -2" and planes in only some secounds with standart diffusor Bravo propellers.
The boat came not in plane with standart Mirage Plus Propellers, any idea ?? I read above something about plug the exhaust inlet from the drive ?? Does it work ??

Haven't modified the Bravo yet. But did get to try something different today. Borrowed a labbed 26" Trophy. What a difference. Picked up a solid 5 mph and the boat was very responsive to trim. Ran the same rpm as the Bravo. Being surprised I put the Bravo on and then back to the Trophy just to verify having everything the same as possible.
Just for ****s & giggles we stuck a 23 chopper on it. Wouldn't even get on plane. Kind of expected that. But it was a fun moon shot trying.

Going by the tach in the boat, be it right or wrong, both props run 46-4700rpm. But it's an accurate comparison tool if nothing else. I found an old Sun tach I'm gonna wire in one of these days for comparison.
