1998 280 velocity rebuild and updates

Update time.... Out on the boat this weekend. :-)))
Thanks to the help of Mr. Gadget for some much needed schooling on the outdrive I was able to upgrade the forward gear to a thick floor gear (x gear?). I had to pull the lower tower bearing race and install a different one he supplied along with some other shims and misc parts needed. Biggest issues (which weren't bad) was pulling the bearing race and setting the new one to the proper depth and I had to machine .050 off the clutch and that was about it. We've put about 1-2 hours on it so far with the 32p bravo and its doing good. It only lasted a few miles with the 32p prop with the thin floor gears.
I'm happy to be on the water with the family and I hope it stays that way!
Thanks for all the help I've recieved from this site!!!

We are ready for some good times!! We are planning to go to Biloxi next weekend to run to horn island with some kind of run that's being planned. I'm ready and hope for a good time. If I have time I'm going to install the blower scoop so the motor gets the air that it is lacking from not having enough inlet volume. I'm not planning on running to hard so if I don't get time then no big deal.

Thanks. Nothing new to update. We've been using the boat trouble free since upgrading the drive components. The boat has been awesome and very fast. I suprized myself by listing the boat for sale since finding a 41 velocity that I want to buy. If my boat sells then I will definitely be moving up to a 41 velocity. I just got my boat how I wanted and can't believe I'm ready to start another project with this 41'.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Powerboat listings (free) craigs list and oSO and boattrader. OSO did well lots of hits and the 1st site listed. Also listed with broker, but with the price our boats, the commission was still a cpl grand and I was only asking mid 20s. Lots of low ballers too. Ended up selling to a guy in picayune..
