Looking good man! Giving me motivation! Darn snow! Had to push the ice off the cover yesterday so it didn't cave in!

ugh...I hate winter not having a garage. I want to work on my boat. I have everything to lay out my wiring harnesses. Yet I am blocked from getting it done due to winter. I will say I need help thinking of an interior color pattern. I plan on grey's and black with red stitching. I just dont know what to do for the design of it all. I'm stumped...lol So if anyone wants to post up some good patters feel free. I want to tear into my seats and panels but I just dont know what I want. I'd love for some carbon fiber looking marine vinyl but I can't seem to find where to get it. I know its out there I have seen it. The wife seems to really like the look of the HOK orion silver for the outside of the boat, and I have to agree. There is a scarab in the scarab section that has the paint color my wife is in love with...lol

Okay so list of parts for motor... marine kinetics cam and valve spring kit ordered. Melling oil pump, comp cams trunnion upgrade kit, and cloyes hex-a-just billet true roller timing set. Its only money right??? Lol. I've already spent more on the engine than I did for the boat and trailer... lol. And I haven't even paid the machine shop yet... hell my headers will cost more than the boat did... lol. But that's the true deffenition of hot rodding right??

Now you know why they call it "Break Out Another Thousand". I've got about $7,000 into my motor and it's not even complete. S**ts crazy.... Most expensive hobby I've ever had by far, but nothing beats it.

This is a great freaking project and you very obviously are a skilled man.... I have always thought that the smaller excels looked really cool.. Love the windscreen... I may be getting myself into a Villain IV project very shortly so its nice to see some of this.. Looking forward to the finish..

So not much of an update. Working out the last few bits of the engine build. Main reason I'm posting is to say a huge thank you to haxby speed and bob madara. These guys are simply fantastic. The information, help, and parts from these guys have been the key to making this project show its true potential. I am so excited to almost finished collecting all the need parts to put this beast together. here is a run down of whats making this little excel into a rocket.

2002 chevy lq4 6.0L block with #317 casting heads
custom made Marine Kinetics cam and a very nicely matched set of springs.
melling HV oil pump
hex-a-just billet true roller timing set.
scat 6.125 forged rods with arp bolts
pistons are still being decided
arp head bolts.
8.1L marine injectors.
soon to be lightning headers. (soon as I can order those without the wife killing me)... LOL

yes there are all kinds of little odds and ends. but those are the big ticket items.

so i totalled up my investment so far, and its not pretty...lol by the time I bolt on lightning headers on this monster I will be looking at over $8300 in just the engine of this. I can say no one will ever have another boat like mine however. its all for the love of the sport right??

Keep up the great work! In the end it will be well worth it. When your boat is sitting at the dock and people ask, who did the restoration, you can say that you did. Not many people can say that!
