Long time no post, but I have been so busy that no time to update forum and here in OSO are not so much readers and comments so writing motivation is down.
Engine run now pretty smooth, maybe all problems are solved for now. Oil leak to exhaust pipes was hardest, oil come from turbochargers, I did 32mm return lines and restrict oil pressure from 10bars to 4bar. Now new oil doesn't leak but previous oil is everywhere, I have to get EGT up to clean engine but it's not possible without load. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5ecdc4a969.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d858bad737.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b0b3b72f8d.jpg Engine have good efficiensy, I can't get it warm. It takes forever to warm 80C at idle, exhaust open EGT is 40C, you can lean to turbine housing when engine coolant is 80C! Exhaust flaps have two 8mm holes and EGR valves all full open, intakes warm to 50C and engine warm much sooner, all cold haze are gone when flaps shut. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...564f99a6d4.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...194ec0817d.jpg I have to build fuel supply manifold for four fuel pumps, all pumps have non return valves so I can normally run only two 12v pumps connected series so 24v voltage can be used. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1571919296.jpg No too much space for throttle cable, special parts have to made. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5cac6f7ce4.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ed612f3c17.jpg Engine is now pretty much ready to lift in boat. Next week my friend come with him 65ton lift and take engine to my home and drop in to the boat. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f6234574dd.jpg All new hydraulics, I cut hoses to right lenght and them take them to hydraulic shop to press ends on. 1/4" thread inserts are weld to extension boxes, inner parts can be zink plated and outer parts are 316 stainless. Trim hoses are kevlar braided special hose. steering is 3/8" regular 225bar hydraulic hose. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...86d8e36670.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...218826a3ff.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...471dcd484b.jpg Yesterday we drop boat back to trailer from stands and make U-steel rails under so boat can be pulled just enough outside that engine package can be lifted in. This boat is going to run in this summer. |
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC WORK.......... PLEASE KEEP POSTING :ernaehrung004:

Outstanding engineering and workmanship. I can't even imagine how you sleep at night with the thoughts spiraling around in your head.
What is your plan for exhaust? Is the Transmash a "smokey" type of diesel? Seriously man, great accomplishment. |
Amazing project thanks for sharing
|
I always look forward to the updates on this amazing conquest!
you have done an amazing job all the way through this build, looking forward to seeing it floating and running on the water |
Diesels do take a long time to warm up at idle.
Awesome job! |

That I don't comment is because I am absolutely clueless when it comes to diesel engines. |
I do not comment because I am in awe at the craftsmanship of this thing.
can not wait to hear about how it runs. please do not stop. |
I have not replied but have been following and am fascinated by your build and talent.
