Default Engine mount loose - how to fix it?

I noticed that my port side engine mount is loose. I tried to tighten the bolts but both seem to be stripped. The bolts that hold the mount appear to be going into the stringer. What is a good way to fix this without pulling the engine?

Thanks
SAR

sat.,
had that problem in an old formula; used epoxy for a temporary fix. ultimately i had saddle mounts fabricated and sidebolted mounts to stringer as opposed to lag bolting into top of stringer. good luck -jeff

You may want to post this out in GD or technical discussion. I'm sure the Scarab forum isn't visited much.

Thats what I began to do, and now im into it for the transom as well....plus all 3 engine compartment stringers AND the the bulk head, AND the four stringers behind the bulkhead I "blocked" which is a new system of replacing portions of stringers with out tearing the glass out of the boat...

In doing what? there is no chance of my stringers re-rotting. I made well sure of that. The stringers to the front are all dry. I made sure of that.. my boat builder friend said to run the boat with the transom like it is for a year or 2 but im not takin the chance. I do not want to put my family on something thats water logged. Does anyone have a scarab 400? what is the difference between that and the scarab III??
