Hi everyone. I have P-29 #5 in the lake erie Islands area. It has the standard power and runs in the 76-77 mph range. Any other P-29 owners have a problem with the paint on the aluminum windshield and what have you done to repair it? Also, does anyone have a solution to the chaulking effect on the no skid front deck? Other than thes minor issues boat is perfect! Hey eric, what is your boat running top speed? I almost bought that boat last june, then they were asking $52,000, sounds like you got a good buy, even if the boat did spend time on the bottom!!

I would really like to know the info on it how the word started on how the boat was sunk for a week the boat is truly immaculate even after thorough investigation inside and out all the way down to pulling the gauge panels out there were no signs of water damage or grime behind panels also the interior is very clean no stains or anything on the bed cushions i am just curious to find out some details on it.it may sound crazy but i wouldn't really be upset if i knew it had sank ive had it for about two months with no problems so theres no suspicion of foul play on the sale but i know that anythings possible.

fastp29 03-31-2008 09:05 PM

the paint on mine is cracked and coming off too. it happened after it sat for two years while the motors were getting built.my boat guy says he can take care of it while he's putting scoops on.

nova26 03-31-2008 09:26 PM

Eric have you tried hitting the search on the P-29 there is alot of threads on it. Try Scarab P-29 too.

The stringers and transom are what you need to worry about. All the other stuff can be cleaned or replaced easily.

Eric, you may be able to pull one exhaust tip and check the wood on the transom there. There may be a mix up and your boat isn't the one that sank. Mike

Here is a pic. My puter and i are not seeing eye to eye will try to post more pics. Old dog & new tricks!!!:D

fastp29 04-02-2008 06:22 AM

i'll bet that boat turns heads at the local watering holes.

fastp29 04-07-2008 07:27 PM

well, we only came up with six. two in maryland, one in california, one in texas, one in lake erie island and one in detroit for sale. and then theres maybe three lost in katrina and one crashed at loto. that only makes ten. at least nineteen more to go.

2 Trick Rick 04-07-2008 07:51 PM

There is another on Lake St Clair, MI. (Harrison Twp) I Think the owner name is Kevin, but I'm not sure.

fastp29 04-07-2008 08:18 PM

thanks rick , i know people see them around and know where they are.

Hardbargain on this site has a P-29 he's from Richmond Hill Georgia. I don't know what # it is. I talk to a guy that owns #26 he's the second owner said the boat has 200hrs on it and custom trailer, Perfect shape stored in climate controlled garage. Jeff Gordan has #24 I read that in some old thread's.

Sydwayz 04-08-2008 11:43 AM

LapseofReason here on OSO used to own one here in VA years ago. I almost bought it after he traded it in 2001, but went a different direction. It could be one that is accounted for already. I have also seen one on Smith Mountain Lake, in southwest Virginia several times.

nova26 04-08-2008 12:12 PM

At the Shootout at LOTO two different years i seen a P-29 there, it was there last year. Anyone clam that one or know who it is?

The Jeff Gordon boat is #16. A boat dealership owns it. It stays in a climate controlled facility year round and sees the lake maybe twice a season.

nova26 04-08-2008 02:12 PM

What's the dealerships name that has #16? It would be cool to know... Where too?

joep29 04-09-2008 02:21 PM

Does anyone know the status of the 3 that were lost in katrina? Were they "lost" or just badly damaged. You never know what parts could be salavageable.

Michael Garibay 04-09-2008 10:45 PM

I read in a previous post that #29 was totalled during delivery. Not sure if true or not. Mike

P-29 owners survey

I own a stock factory P-29. It is the 4th offshore power boat for me. It is the best of all. Includes a Magnum.
I rarely visit this site. Need info on ????? [email protected] Savannah Georgia

P-29

I'm the second owner of a 130hr. P-29. It has the factory F.I. 350's and Blackhawk drives. I'm located in northern IL. Most of my boating is done on the Chain-O-Lakes. Mine is #7

nova26 04-11-2008 10:33 AM

Where is the # of the boat at? Is it on the back by the vin#?

Rich you ever plan on selling in the near future?

Check 253 04-11-2008 04:16 PM

It's the 7th and 8th digit of the Vin. It is located on the starboard rear. My Vin is WELDSA07J596. I've considered selling, but it is extremely hard to upgrade to something that will outperform this boat without spending a small fortune.

I'm not in the market yet ,after I sell mine I am going to buy one. I have two Powerboat Magazine's march 96 with the P-29 on the cover. I've been wanting one for years I actually join the site just to find P-29's that are out there so when I sell mine hopefully I will have somewhat of a choice since the are somewhat of limited boats. It would be great if I could get your contact info so when I am ready I could see if you were ready to sell yet? My cell #573-578-8943. e-mail add, [email protected]
Thanks
Dan:D

Michael Garibay 04-22-2008 02:41 AM

Yes, me too. I wouldn't think the P-29s' were that cheap ($98k), but I guess it was 12 years ago . I wonder how much my 38' was new? Thanks Mike

nova26 04-22-2008 07:30 AM

Mike, Chris, no problem. I was glad to do it. That's a good question Mike what your P-38 was new. I wonder if you Called Wellcraft if they could tell you.
