We're now machining the heads for bigger valves and adding domed Pistons for 9.2:1 compression. My engine guy thinks we'll gain 130hp per engine. We still have the original cast rods and cranks. I thought of adding stroker kits and making them 489/496 or whatever but decided to wait til next year on that. Sorry, I know you didn't ask me all that.

130 a side should help some! I don't see why you won't be in the high 60's!! Glad to see you are also recovering well!!

Thanks, yeah I feel a lot better. I'll have to get different exhaust and more displacement to approach the speeds where you and rookie are.

Now that I finally figured out why I couldn't seem to get the engines to fit in the bilge and have the correct angle for the drive shaft I started the design of the custom standoff on the transom. I also plan to add the teardrop plates for the kaama's (mine are the early style without the plates). Standoff will only need to be 3.5" thick with a 1" teardrop plate.

Now the question is do I make the standoff out of plywood and glass when I redo the transom or have something made from aluminum ($$$)

Thanks!

No need for dimensions of the tear drops as mine will need to be custom. I am already tweaking the design some as the transom extension needs to shrink by 1" in overall height so I can get 4 of them out of a single sheet of 3/4 plywood.

I will post the changes once I am done!
