Sounds about right for HP500's. Impressive slip numbers with 26p bravo's. Have you ever tried mirage+ props?

Default Drive height ?

Any of you guys mess with your drive heights on the Thunder non AVS hull . I have been thinking about trying a pair of -2 shortys on my 92 Viper flat deck . Prop shafts are now @ 5.75 inches below the hull running surface . The boat tends to run flat on the pad now turning out 30 bravo's @ 5650 with a 1.50 gear . Boat will run 91-92 with in a light chop . Powered by 496 blower motors 4.5 lbs of boost after the intercoolers . They made 775 hp on the dyno .

The boat planes now with some blow out just as it roll's over on plane but will hook up several seconds later .

Sorry for the Hi -jack ... just figured we were taking about speed on the thunder hull .

When I bought this thing it had 500's carb motor's and ran 76 GPS turning labbed 26 bravos .
RPM was questionable with the old VDO tachs ... I Think it

was around 5300 ish rpm ?

Found what I was looking for on Wellcraft website. In 1995 they tested a 31 with HP500's and got 76-79 mph spinning 27p mirage props at 5200 rpm

Anyone know when the mirage+ came out and replaced the standard mirage? wondering which would have been on that boat in 95.

Sounds like the dash speedo may not have been dreaming....... I thought it felt fast
