We’ve only sanded and buffed the areas around the hardware we’ve installed. We’ll get to the rest of it as we have time. There’s plenty to be done.

Heath,
What did you use to seal the hull/rub rail to the deck? Andy |

Messed with the rubrail some Saturday, big screw up by me by assuming the rubrail company would drill the holes in some kind of uniform measured way. Oh no, they just screw them wherever and whatever width. I’ll probably have to weld a few holes up and redrill them so my transom will look right LOL. These things are what make your project last forever.

Last 10% takes 50% of the time! lol! |
Even in 81, a guy buying a boat of this type would not break out his measuring tape. Only the factory and lack of quality control/specs or craftsmanship would care.
Great to know there are craftsman like you guys to fix the issues and make it like it should have been |
Heath I believe I’d let them have that rub rail back.
That is sorry quality right there. I just looked at/measured mine and uniform all the way around. I’m pretty sure it came from Taco and I know they are expensive but..... |
I’m probably just going to repair what I have. I think I can get it done faster that way.
Billy sprayed a liberal application of urethane primer in the engine compartment today. Few divers to fix with putty and we’ll buzz the whole thing prolly 180 then 320 grit and paint it. Fingers crossed for Saturday. 😀 I’ve been putting off drilling drain holes in the outer lower corners of the bulkhead. I like the idea of not having the engine compartment and the cockpit connected to each other. But the cockpit needs to drain somewhere. Who knows, I might get caught out in the rain sometime. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...24e0f2f49.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8db4acfc2.jpeg |

Just checking in to see if things are going okay for you down in Bama. Any new progress with rigging.
