Stand off boxes on a 34 Scarab???
Have any of you guys put standoff boxes on a 34 SCARAB??? What results have you gotten???
Mine is a 92 with IMCO 2 inch shorties. I was thinking on putting boxes with 3 inch rise. The props don't cavitate or break loose on turns now with the short drives but they do slip on take off. The boat must be able to get on plane without blowout problems. I was thinking on getting the new 5 blade MERC props to go with it. I am running 28 bravos now with 600 HP. The boat tops out at 77 MPH GPS. I run at 7.5 on the cable drive indcators for max speed-- Neutral drive setting is 3.5-- The boat will get on plane even with the drives set at neutral with almost no difference from all the way down. Thanks Steve

Hey I figure with boxes, Hyd. steering and 700 HP 540+ cubes it should do at least 90's.
Seriously I NEED full hyd steering and if I was going that route I should install stand off boxes at the same time.
The boat needs more bow lift and the boxes will give it more leverage so I won't have to trim so far to lift the bow.
