The propeller nut was loose or the shaft was bent prior. I always torque the prop nuts. Have not broken a prop shaft yet.

You put a vacuum on it? Or did you check manifold vacuum with a gauge? (Engine running of coarse) So what was the number it reached? Was the needle steady or fluctuating?

Ficht engines do not use a VRO pump. The oil system is stand alone. The thing (like with everything else) is maintenance is everything. Fuel and oil quality. Spark plugs and there indexing....
