I have personally blown up stock Bravos with only 450 ft-lbs of input....

Well, sort of. But in general speaking, a 8.1/496 is a very different beast than an 8.2/502. I would refer to it as a "thirty over GM 8.1".
If you say 496, it could be a MkIV/Gen5,6 stroker 454...
