Re: 454mag rebuild in progress

I have a similar engine 468" 731 cam same heads Dart Single Plane with a 750 Holley, and Eddie Marine Exhaust. I have asked in the past about my carb and I have been told 750 is adequate. I may be...

Re: Looking for cam and intake suggestions

I would have thought the Crane 731 or 741 would have been great suggestions. Is that wrong?

Re: Fame Arrestor USGA

Another option would be to cut a hole in just the hatch and not the upholstery. CP has a box that can be put in the hole to gain clearance. You just remove some of the padding. Might not be your cup...

Re: Marine Carb or Not

Can anyone actually quote the exclusion in their policy that says there is no coverage if you use non USCG equipment? I have checked mine and there is no such exclusion. If anyone can quote the...

Re: " Dennis Moore" type book for 4.3???

My guess is it would be easier and cheaper to swap the small block V8 in place of the V6. Performance parts for the V6 will be expensive. Look for someone wanting to swap a small block for a big...

Re: Best Nose Cone

I have a Baja Hammer running right at 80 on GPS. I added the Eddie Marine nose cone with epoxy, being very careful to align properly. It looked very cool and aggressive. Speed dropped to 76 as I...

Re: Cutting High Pressure steering hose

I used a dremell with a thin abrasive disc. You can make 2 to 3 cuts before the disc is used up. It cut it very cleanly. Tried the hacksaw but it was way to much effort.

Re: question on heads and cam choice

I am far from an expert on the topic, but don't you have to run lower compression pistions than those to use pump gas?

What should spark plugs be gapped at?

I have a 468 with Merlin iron heads, 731 Crane Cam, 9.3 to 1 compression 750 Holley, MSD ignition and Eddie Marine Exhausts. The builder put MR43T AC plugs in it and set the timing at 35 degrees. I...

Re: Please explain the advantage of a "Water Crossover"

When I purchased my engine, it had a cross over on it already. I had seen many posts on this board that were both pro and con crossovers. Many indicated pressure problems. When I put the engine in, I...

Re: 22' Baja Hammer, SPEED??

The Hammer can handle 80 MPH. I know as I have one and it runs right at 80 on a Gaffrig GPS. When I had the stock motor, it showed 68 to 70 on the stock speedometer. I bought a 468 that is supposed...

Thanks for the input guys. A wing dam is a pile of rocks under the water piled in a row like a dam. They usually run perpendicular to the shore line. The Army Corps puts them there to try and control...

Help! Developed vibration

I developed a rather significant vibration this weekend. Prop looks normal. Is it likely the coupler? Any way to determine if it is the coupler without pulling the engine? Any advice would be...

Re: Engine gurus!!!!!!!!!!

Why not lab the 25 Mirage? You are at 80 with a 25 Mirage at 5,000 RPM. You might pick up about 300 RPM with labbing. Wouldn't that be about right or should this combo pull more RPM than 5,300?
