Not Sure. The dirt should be trapped in the filter material. Dead center so it doesn't run over the side. I relocated mine so it sets right side up.

Stainless Marine Exhaust, RPM Air Gap Manifold, BG Carb but sent to Nickerson Performance to straighten out. Runs like I stole it.

Measure from where the carb sets down to the bottom of the front rail of the intake then check Edelbrock they show that dimension. I had to do that for the same reason.

Yep your holding the horse back while giving it the whip. I have a carburated small block with locked MSD at 34* and turn 5100 RPM.

If you get weights & springs you need to unlock the beast. I would leave it locked and get your timing set correctly.

Sounds like the distributors are locked out and 25* is to low. Mine is locked and set at 34*. If your balancer doesn't have the degrees marked on it I would get a timing tape for the balancer dia....
