I believe you are correct since the SENDER is nearest the thermostat and it makes sense to gauge the water temperature at that juncture. I'll check for continuity from that point...

Question How do I purge air from heat exchanger on 496 mag?

After replacing the thermostat on a 496 Mag, specifically how do I add antifreeze and completely purge air out of the heat exchanger before starting the engine?
