Just reverse you drive spacers on your trim arms, this will lower your drive 1/2" deeper into the water giving the same results as changing the tabs out! Be careful of nose stear though, the bow...

I just went and got an 1/8" piece of aluminum cut out the panel with a jigsaw and used the old panel as a pattern for a router with a carbide blade to role and even the edge up...drilled the screw...

Deff add zinc...and really any mineral oil will do...the 454 will run for years as long as its maintained properly... don't wastes your money on synthetic oil that engine wasn't designed for that...
