Re: Ideal props for 2006 Donzi 38 ZR 525's?

More than likely not after learning that these are more or less the best props for this particular boat.

Re: Twins or Triplets?

I can't see three 525's vs. two 525's being more fuel efficient any way you slice it.

All though I can see 3 525's being faster.

Re: Ideal props for 2006 Donzi 38 ZR 525's?

It lugs and then it starts to blow out when rolling over, which then takes some working the throttles to get it on over. It's actually a BIG "PITA" and the old man won't like dealing with it after a...

You've got a townhouse in Florida on the water and you can't have a boat lift??

I'd be looking for a new townhouse rather than a new boat...

Re: Apollo props?

Sounds like you have a nice performance setup. Don't cut corners on a prop. Used Bravo's are very common and can be purchased for fairly cheap, plus would work a whole lot better on your boat.

Re: Ideal props for 2006 Donzi 38 ZR 525's?

What Hydro's would work best with the donzi? The p5 or p5x's? Also, what pitch in a stock Hydro p5x would the 31p Herings be equal to? The Herings are a semi-cleaver prop. Would the p5x's round...

Re: Ideal props for 2006 Donzi 38 ZR 525's?

They're staggered with Merc ITS/Sportmasters. Haven't got any wot numbers yet. I know they'll hit over 5000 rpm's. Evidentally, the Herings are common and recommended on this boat, but their a dog...

Re: Ideal props for 2006 Donzi 38 ZR 525's?

Yes, it has the Merc ITS/Sportmaster setup with 31p herings. We experimented with running the tabs down to about 6 or 7 on gauge and this helped. And yes you must ease back a bit when props lose...

Re: Ideal props for 2006 Donzi 38 ZR 525's?

We were on the Missouri River, so it wasn't really in ideal conditions with the smooth water and the current which throws off the gps. The true test will be loto water conditions, with some good...

Ideal props for 2006 Donzi 38 ZR 525's?

Finally got a chance to take the new Donzi 38 ZR/525's out and quickly realized it's a total dog out of the hole. Very disappointing hole shot with 5 blade 31p herings. Any recommendations on other...

Re: 2500 GMC Duramax pull Donzi 38 ZR, safe or not?

Re: 2500 GMC Duramax pull Donzi 38 ZR, safe or not?

I'll at least have to switch it to the lowest power level due to the weight of the boat and exhaust temp issues. There's also a warning in the manual that states each level will be safe to tow up to...
