I keep hearing about 400ss being hard on drives that's why I'm trying to find out if any of the stronger drives are worth it. What fails on them? Most of my driving will be just cruising around at 30...

I have found the tape used for shrink wrapping is about as tough as it comes, seals good and comes off without leaving any adhesive behind. I would test it first.
