In general its gonna be a slightlty different cam centerline to avoid reversion.....Coast guard approved acc to keep from generating sparks (alt, start, dist).... Stainless or brass hardware like nuts bolts freeze plugs to help with corrosion...maybe a few different gaskets depending on type of use (i.e Head gaskets) and possibly slightly bigger tolerances for piston bore and oil clearences. Now its not to say that you cant get a stock auto engine to work..its just a question of keeping it alive the longest since you have to remember....auto engines are used to only seeing life between 1500 and 2500 rpm running around everyday...our marine engines run at 2500-5000rpm+ constantly
