I'm replacing some guide bunks on my South Florida Trailer and was wondering if they should be bearing any of the boat weight. As you can see from these pics it is. I don't think they should. What are your opinions?

Take them out and replace them with dual V-rollers at each crossing brace. The bunks that contact the chines are what needs to be doing the work. They're right under the stringer so you're bottom won't deform sitting there. Sitting on the vee is asking for major hook.

You need the rollers for trailer loading at the ramp. You probably don't want to gouge the bottom on those crossrails.

Looking at your pics, I'm not in love with those bunk pedestals either. One crossbolt is all that's holding them up. There should be box tubing vertcally up into a u-shaped pad that the bunk will nest into. They need to be a little taller too- looking at the pad between those v-bunks, it looks like the keel has been scraping.

Would rollers help on a Myco tandem dually? I love the trailer and the bunks support the hull very well but it has solid axels and the boat sits high. It's a big boat so on some ramps I can't get it deep enough to float off. Powering on and off on a smaller ramp is sometimes a chore. Wondering if adding rollers would be advisable.
