Angry Gas station across from Black Water jacks? (SUNSET BEACH RESORT)

Since it was a stop for the Cig Run, did anyone fill up there ? They had 91octane.
Shortly after filling up my intake valve broke in half and decided to have a party in my engine.
I took some gas out, put in glass left outside for a few days , there`s a dark orange residue at the bottom of the glass and the gas smells more like laquer.
I treated it with boostane but maybe not enough.
My head guy says bad gas/ super high cylinder pressure (pre ignition) broke that valve.

Pisses me off but I guess I should have ran when the gas chick said "oh wow we never get boats like this here" so who knows how long that 91octane been siting in them tanks.

That sucks.

I am a believer you can’t fix bad gas (your description of the smell is old gas - i deal with 2-4-6+ yr old gas alot) with any pour in anything.

Yikes...that really sucks. And I can honestly say I've NEVER seen a valve break in HALF before!

Hard to believe bad gas damaged a valve like that unless all of the pistons show knock damage also, what does the knock sensor data show? That was probably a flawed valve IMO

I agree with the above. If it detonated so bad to break a valve, there must be other damage as well.

I always worry about buying bad gas, especially at a marina. Hear horror stories about water in their fuel.

What do the tops of the pistons look like?

Step one...drain ALL the gas from the boat. Step Two...make sure you do step one.

Marina gas is a crap shoot unless it is a high volume destination.

Always fuel up at performance. It costs a little more than other places but I have never had an issue there and they run big power through that gas dock.
