the exhaust was alot of fun. |
L@@ks good Bro keep up the great job , put that Biotch inside the bldg and turn up the heat :cool-smiley-011:

When are you going to get off your butt and fire the engines?
Charge the batteries, bleed the fuel system, luckily it's so cold you do not need any prisp, and fire that thing up. |
The man is simply KNOT RIGHT !

That's what I've been talking about. Will you be able to sleep tonight?
|
All I can say is awsome
|
Donzi thank you for your help today.
I see your still camera has video mode.:D The technology designed in these engines is amazing. I am actualy on the phone with JIM at PPS (Turbine builder). in the shutdown video. I can just about here him. He walked me through the first ignition sequence. It responded and did exactly what he said it would do. I fired up the second one and it was a mirror response of the first. We were keeping a eye on the upper hatch corners they were slightly in the exhaust stream. (Halon1211 sitting on the transom) My start sequence was. Engage Spool up with igniters, Fuel solenoid, Start fuel all at once. N1 is at 10% Watching oil pressure (20-30psi),Pyrometer 0. You hear a quick Woosh. (Flame) N1 starts to climb 20-30-40% pyrometer starts to climb 400-600. At 900 I release start fuel. Then release spool. Pyrometer stabalized about 800 Oil pressure at 90psi N1 is at 46% We are now at Ground Idle. This all happend within 25 seconds. I am so freakin excited...Its all I can think about! Wind chill will be below zero today. I think I will chill and watch the Pats. |
Gerry long time no talk. Yoyr beyound nuts you know that right? You + Turbines= watch the *&ck out Cant wait to see it. If you ever need anything just give me a ring.

Basicaly 6:00 saturday we got em fired and bolted! Ken would be pretty cool to video the caliper assembly in action. I,m almost out of water:D |

G, do u-have a little bit of lube in that p/steer/pump don't want it roasted like those stacks. Fuel prime? is there a dump after shut down or ck.valve/solenoid not operating in correct sequence? What does Jim say ? Water on the way by sat/sun for sure will load up the ol' Excursion to the gills ! As always best of luck/be safe and save some hot dogs and marshmellows for ken, ron, mike and the rest of the boat freeks !--J--:circle:--will call 1st.

These are the Aeromotive fuel pumps. Nothing to do with Turbines. Kinda acts like a lift pump in a deisel truck. They were mounted down in the bildge below tanks when I ran the Blower motors. I had to move them . Too close to Turbine exhaust. They are now above the tanks by a foot and will not hold prime. I ordered some -10 aeromotive check valves. Will try them. Once we get all the issues worked out I can start putting all thes SS cushin clamps on all the spaghetti. clean up and paint the forward hatches. Still gotta test the braking system and wire the alternator. Lots of things to do. We got plenty of time I can smell the dogs already!:party-smiley-004: |
That's koool, as usual u-are on top of it, plumb before or after the- "act's like lift pump" -?- :cool-smiley-027: __ ps that's great news, glad to hear, Ron is back on the job.:cool-smiley-026: is that why u-r out of h20 ?

Parts are in !
Time to get back to work. A lil fleece, some long johns. Might have to spray some anti- freeze on my wrenches to keep 'em from freezin to the hands and we'll be good to go ! CYA Sat. morning. Alert N.A.S.A. & F.A.A. Everthing is A-O.K. http://inlinethumb44.webshots.com/39...500x500Q85.jpg |

Hey gerry i wanna see that machine and like u said tear some water up nwith this 572 of mine hear that blower wine and the 34 p throw some h20
|
Ken, I got the ps lines installed and bled it out.
The N2 tach on that engine is still freaking out. I will swop the tach gens when I get a chance. I cant check the brake system until I can read N2. That particular one has a two pole not a three pole. I picked up another one on ebay for 150.00. |
It ain't easy being Gerry's biotch !:D
We had to fire the heater up today, just to thaw out the ICEMAN !:p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-fBO6Ps-eM |
I can't tell you how many glasses of red wine I have enjoyed this Winter while catching up on your projects progress on the weekends. Please add me to the pile of well deserved compliments to this amazing project. Just amazing.
Who's better than you to have the engines sound just as cool shutting down as the do spooling up! Again -amazing job. Hope the rest of the install and testing goes well for you. |

Take a close look at the brass plug in the center of the caliper. Yes there is snow on everything. I got a little agressive in grinding it down to fit in the bell housing. I replaced this with your standard steel allen 1/8npt plug:D Now I got hard pedal! |

Thank you for the cases and cases of water and of course your help aswell. DENNIS THE MENACE, In regards to a email you sent I installed this plate which rides behind the neutral, forward and reverse arm on the crashbox. There is a adjustable ball with a spring which rides in the Detent, I will ad two more detents for forward and reverse as well. I am expecting to be able to feel these through the shifts in the cockpit....Thus insuring full engagement. Thank you for you inputs and advice aswell! |

Thank you for your Support! Once I get the N2 tach working on starboard we will get some video of how the caliper functions to stop the rotor and actualy make a shift. I think this should be pretty cool to see! Stay tuned. |

[QUOTE=KNOT-RIGHT;2416887]Ron removed the ps belt before ignition.

Gerry did you get the check valves ?? i have a few brand new in the boxes # 10 that were too small for mine .let me know if you need em and i'll shoot them out to ya :cool-smiley-011: |
Damm brother!............. I freakin got them already.
Thank you for the offer dude! I,m running the Aero2000 drag pumps. These are what fed the PSI blower motors. I didnt require any check valves. I mounted them low in the bildge. If you removed the feeds to them they would have actually siphoned the fuel from the tanks. They are no longer in that position. They are now above the tanks approx a foot. After having conversations with Aeromotive they recomended the ck valves. They are in, However we still had a holding prime issue with port. Thanks once again for the OFFER Man! |
