Spoke to Carmen at Aero yesterday and she is waiting for a price and receiver concept for the windshield from their OEM who does the glass work. They are very busy right now but she said she should have some sort of drawing, price and deilvery timeframe by next Friday. Stay tuned.

Steve, heading to Lake Lanier this summer. Are you around in July? Would love to get the Skaters together to do some running. Maybe I can get Loeffler to come down!

I will be at Sanibel Fl. The first two weeks in July with the Skater, after that at the Lake, would love to get together, let me know when it's closer.

Double Rigged 03-30-2012 09:06 AM

Spiderman 03-31-2012 09:40 AM

RobF 04-28-2012 07:02 PM

Boat splashed today, level is just right.
Great success!

Spiderman 04-29-2012 10:12 AM

Very good........... Let me know how it works out ?

RobF 08-14-2012 11:29 AM

Wind deflector is getting rave reviews from those that ride on the boat

fatherb68 08-14-2012 10:35 PM

You guys should check out Robs, I just saw pics of it on monday at his shop. It's by far the best looking and functioning wind screen I have seen. He's putting one on my 28 now

Any pics of the boat in the water from the side. Would like to see some as completed away from the shop. Is it any harder to see over the top and did they loose any speed with it being a permenate screen?

Thanks

No unfortunately have to work and pay for the toys. Kids back in school as well.

Boat looked awesome, would have love to see it run. We will be back next year for sure! Love the lake and had a great time. We were there for two weeks. I will let you know next time so we can hook up. Send me your number I would like some feedback on the area to compare notes on the speeds I ran.
Thanks

wondering how much good it'd do for a 6'1" + frame guy :party-smiley-004: and can it be done in clear or smoked???? pics of it look great.

RobF 08-17-2012 01:39 PM

its less then 3" high, its fiberglass, not acrylic. It cannot be made clear or smoked

pictures I have dont really show much

looks great regardless. I like the blue hull too!!

I would be very interested in an aero marine w/s for my 28 skater please let me know...

Double Rigged 09-20-2012 08:56 PM

All us 28 owners are. Aero has no interest in building anything. I was told send template which I did and they did nothing with it. Wish there was someone else who could build wrap around windshield. You would think she would want to help future bigger skater owners.

I talked with her two yrs ago about a windshield for a 28 Skater, she quoted me $40,000..........I told her it was a 28 Not a 388 :) I lost interest after that. I will stick with my piece of plexiglas, may not look the best, but it Works Great!!

RobF 09-22-2012 09:25 AM

my piece starts at $600

:eekdrop: I'll get my 300xs's first LOL. that's just stupid money regardless if i have it or not. doesn't Jim Lee do this kinda stuff????

KEVLARKAT32 09-24-2012 09:11 AM

You 28 owners that want a windshield that you see thru and not a fairing need to get in touch with Dave Bush ( DBR Racing ) his father made a very nice W/S that had aluminum corners . Very good looking part

Larry

RobF 09-24-2012 09:42 AM

I dont know if you guys have priced custom curved glass lately but even a small corner piece for a 24' boat runs about $5k. That is what I had to pay after a storm to have one little section custom made.

A full wrap around one? if it were under $20k just for the glass I would be shocked, then you still need framework to hold it onto the boat.

Curved lexan would be a lot more reasonable

KEVLARKAT32 09-24-2012 11:33 AM

LAriverratt 09-24-2012 12:51 PM

Double Rigged 09-24-2012 08:51 PM

It was Joes father that built the aluminum pieces. I have spoken to him about it but last conversation was he was going to see if he could or wanted to make more. Joe works with Dave Bush. I can call and see where he s with it. He also owns the all white triple eng 28 that was for sale. I believe he still has it. Great guy!

I am interested. IMO that's the best looking windscreen to date on a 28!!! hopefully will have SOMETHING better when I re-rig. the trip boat is in my previous post. from the pics it looks incredible. looks to have nothing in the tunnel for the third motor...is that normal?? thought it was needed???

motion 10-11-2012 12:47 AM

windshield

i will talk to my dad about making some more sets, he will do the big part but you will have to be able to help yourself to get it finished, thanks, joe

any news on this??? I'm planning on a re-rig next fall.

Tborisch 11-20-2012 11:26 AM

Boat Customs is working on a windshield kit for the 24's and 28's. Should be SWEET! my 24 will be the test mule i think.

Tom

waterboy222 11-20-2012 11:31 AM

Will the 24 kit have a top rail on the windshield?

Great question, I don't know the answer. Call Chris, he is the one working on the design.

Spoke with Jim Lee in Key West, he has a 28 and said he would look at building a clear windshield also.

Jim Lee would be the Best person to build a windshield, as his company. Builds Airplane windows.......also, he is probably the nicest guy I have met in the poker run community!

I am interested in an aero marine windshield. Where did you get with it???

No where. Many wasted hours. They are NOT interested in the project. Gave up with them. Maybe Jim Lee can help.

Lexanlarry 11-25-2012 07:27 PM

We have made several boat windshields, we would need to templete the fairing on the boat , make the mold and form the product, the more we do the better the price
