Special thanks to Jim. His work is top notch, I can wait to get the boat here and run it.

The Gulf was a little rough this afternoon. Thunderstorms chopped it up.

Jim, Really nice job.
Erik, Have fun with the boat and be safe. Post some performance numbers as you run the boat.
With the price of new boats going up all these nice 28's are going up in value!!!!

erik1976 06-18-2014 08:50 PM

Speaking of value has anyone ever checked what a new 28 with 300's would cost on a trailer?

Ron knows, they just went up.:)
Be careful with the boat, they take a little seat time.

It turned out very nice. The fuel tanks are 3 feet farther forward than mine. So it rode a little different. It is a very nice boat.

What propellers are those?

Hi Rik, they are 15.125 x 34 Dewalds.

Based on what I know first hand in a quote I got from Skater almost 4yrs ago and what I recently heard the other day a base white boat. No Paint, White Interior, 300xs Motor package with minimal gauges and simple rigging on a Skater Trailer list price is right at $200,000.00 dollars. Not sure how much of a deal they would make to sell one but with a paint job, custom interior and some cool goodies it would be well over 200k out the door. Makes some of the nice ones we have look like a deal at $150K if that is true. I am sure Erik can agree how fast the money goes once you start to dig in and refit an older boat!!!! LOL
That is also no Windshield. Add a wraparound molded one and there goes another 10 to 15k. The Doug Wright 32 pleasure that was built was almost 300k I had heard.
