noli, glad your keeping your Superboat 34', When do you think she will be Turn Key???:grinser010:

noli 03-27-2010 08:52 PM

Rick & Gary,

Ocean didn't tell me how much longer till the motors arrive. I will give updates asI get them.

Also as far as selling her, if someone wants her at a reasonable price, I will sell her otherwise it's full speed ahead with the rigging and possibly taking some side trips in the Bahamas.

I am also looking to upgrade the instruments and controls. Anyone have any idea how much this control costs?

According to Drew, we're close to getting the engines in.

And she's back on the market with a new lower price.

Have a look:

I agree... I really like that Checkmate!

noli 04-16-2010 10:07 AM

the Checkmate will run nice with those twin 2.5's.

The Checkmate is sold also. Ocean is doing a final test run...then it will be delivered...nice...

Another brand new Scout center console was also sold. Has twin Yamaha 4-strokes.

Ocean is movin' some new boats. Good to see that. Maybe a good indicator to where our economy is heading.....noli

Got some good news. Drew from Ocean called me this morning and said that my motors came in and are hanging on the back of the 34. I will try to get pics from them this week and will post ASAP :)

Gary, I'm gonna take a shot at this and say that Steve will complete the rigging and the water testing by May 8 (that's a solid 3 weeks).

She then goes back to JC's factory to complete the upholstery (templates are needed to be made for this) and Rick will design a fiberglass mold for me that would cover the wiring and hoses in the cabin's large fuel tank (see pics). I am guessing around 4 weeks for upholstery and mold design. So the earliest that I would have her is June 5.

When is our 40th Anniversary and Fun Run gonna happen?

Rick please start a new thread on the Superboat Anniversary :)

elvisali 04-19-2010 08:37 PM

Glad to hear she is coming along Noli......remember, if you need a test driver, give me a shout :coolcowboy:

noli 04-20-2010 08:56 AM

I definitely will Sean.

We will need to sharpen our finger nails because there will be no interior, we will need sharp nails to dig into the fiberglass as we hold on for dear life :)

Rick,

I will be ordering a cover for the 34. Do I need to cover that horizontal support structure with canvas (shown with the arrow)? I don't want water seeping into the bilge from the rain...thanks, noli

The latest on the 34.

Steve has done the following on the 34:
  • attached all of the electricals for the engine
  • the gas hoses leading to the engines
  • the steering hydraulic hoses are attached
  • the hydraulic steering hoses have been bled
  • the Verado Mapping software have been installed via laptop
  • Steve is currently calibrating the Vessel View
  • Vessel View info like tank sizes, etc... have been put in

It looks like the eninges will be fired up in leass than 2 weeks.

I will have pics for you this week of the above installations :)

Superbabi 05-04-2010 03:59 PM

noli, you must be getting all AMPED UP !!!!! Boating in two weeks !!!!!

noli 05-07-2010 01:32 PM

Gary, it is soo exciting to see the 34 come together.

I think next week Steve will start water testing.

Some pics from last Saturday. Steve has pretty much all of the riggin completed.

He is waiting on me to bring the steering wheel. The one on the boat is only temporary. I'm looking for a good aluminum fish style steering wheel.

The fuel labels are aluminum and screwed down, not just glued down. Batteries are in.

The marine switches are water proof and the white back plate is made from carbon fiber. Steve is very meticulous about the rigging. Some shots of the Vessel View. Nice color screen. Very bright under sun light.

...more shots fo the vessel view.

The Can Pad is installed. This will allow for single lever maneuverability on the twin engines. There are two locations for the trim switches. On the dash and the other on the Zero Effort controls.

The engine connections are complete and clean. The steering tie bars are in. The Starboard engine has the cylinder that drives both engines. So the hydraulic lines both only go into the stbd. engine.
