what i was trying to say is that the superboat has great resale on the in the northeast
the ultra is a west coast boat

ill probably get a 30 y2k before the summer

the superboat is a much better built boat

Hey, thanks for everyone's replies. Do those out there with experience with the 21 Legend feel that it needs trim tabs? Also, are most of you purchasing switchable exhaust systems with your boats or are the standard thru hull "loud" exhaust systems within appropriate noise standards for Long Island boating?
Thanks,
Ken

The benefit of boating on the sound as opposed to a lake, is that we don't have to worry about sound levels. Remember, the louder the better

Hey JMK,
How's it going?
You are correct, no sound level issues on LI Sound, however in the CT river there are laws on the books.
I believe that 90db at 3ft, have not heard of the DEP check anyone in the last couple of years though. Used to be that they would sit between the bridges and bust boats coming out of River Landing (Between the Bridges Marina). I think that most of the high powered (really Loud) boats use switchable external mufflers now.

Hi Ken,
I have been running with muffler inserts for the last few years. They take the edge off at an idle so that you can talk to your passengers without yelling. They will also help meet any sound level laws.
This year, I do plan to install a captain's call system so that I can have the best of both worlds...

Default Silent Choice is not a choice now...

I just took My Silent choice out and put a set of CMI's in...I get harrased in Stamford & Greenwich Ct, Besides the uptight Ct towns like those I really havent had a problem with noise... I did get pulled over for my Reg numbers 3 times already ...The marine patrol in Rye,Ny pull me over by Playland all the time, they claim my numbers dont contrast the hull properly...whatever, I'm not changing them!
