If your looking for near 100, go with the 34'we have in stock. Ready ti be rigged. With a pair of 525's, it will be around there. Or you can go with twin small blocks in a Y2K.

Re: New SB 30 ordered
I was thinkin a single Whippled 540 (800hp) in the Y2k. What do you think??
|
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Ohhhhhhh !!!!! That should do it quite nicely................ LOL

Re: New SB 30 ordered
Actually...it has the most replies in the SB forum.
- Tripps' "Superboat Re-Union" has 3582 views -163 replies...(still remarkable considering Tripps doesn't even own a Superboat!!! :D:D:D) |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Since he is in the great Northwest fly fishing with his dad and brothers I shall be answering for him this week. This way I can add a few more responses to this thread.
Anyway, we are sooooooo looking forward to getting this boat. The pictures are awesome and we can't wait to see how one of these things rides. Hopefully, we will be able to take at least one extra day to take her out for a run, but Keith's work has gotten really crazy so getting time off is getting harder and harder for him (he almost didn't get to take this year in advanced planned vacation). We will have to do some creative traveling for this to all work out. Y'all have a great Monday!! RA |

Re: New SB 30 ordered
Hey FX10/Rick,
I have an 04' y2k and I am interested in having you retrofit the hatch/steps support to the new style hydraulic piston style like in the above pics. Whats involved? how much? time frame? Send me a PM if you want. Thanks, Scott.....SB30 |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
SB30
You can send your cabin door/steps to us, and I can fiberglass in a new mounting bracket. Around $ 50 to glass in the new support and another $ 55.00 for the hardware. A new mounting block will have to be installed in the companionway though. You can probably take care of that. I will send you a template of the mounting block, and instructions where to mount it. Contact John, 631-226-1761 if you want me to retrofit the door for you. Rick |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Hey RA !!!
I'm actually working on a Saturday ! Johns coming in too !! He's been rigging up a storm on your boat. Moror is almost ready to go in. Will get more pics of it. I know...................... I've been slacking. It's a motivation factor. LOL |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Rick, Thanks for the info. It sounds simple enough. As soon as boating season is over I will make arrangements with John to take a trip down and drop the door off so you can glass in the new mounting block.
Thanks again for the information, SB30-Scott |

Keith !!!!
Whats up !!! Long Islands, Great South Bay isn't good enough ? You have to hoof it all the way to Conn. ???? No better boating then here on Long Island. Hmmmmm......Now I'm wondering if I should send the picture I took today after John installed the motor. LOL |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
YES!!! Does this mean I can stop making those phhhhbbbbbbbbttttttttttt sounds? Hey, what better way to show off all your hard work than in a group of fellow boaters? Take that Friday off and we'll do the local waters with you and JC!! We're pumped! We've still got weeks of boating weather here in TX (sorry locals......), so we'll be ready to get her home and finsh the shakedown, Texas Style!
|
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Just tell John "If Rick can't come Friday, I'm not ordering that twin smallblock Y2K next year". That might work. LOL
|
Re: New SB 30 ordered
LOL, FX-10!
Anyone recommend a good hotel near SB home shop? Remember I have a big trailer and the local streets are tight. We'll roll in Thursday night and Stay Fri night too. |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
This place is new & I hear good.(Melville...directly north of SB & near the LIE with good parking.)
http://www.extstay.com/ or Huntington Hilton is right next door also. |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Thanks Bash - we'll probably do the Extended Stay spot - still checking today.
FX-10, any status? Pics? Splashed??????? You going to get some time away next Friday to go for a ride? |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Keith,
I guess you want to know how fast it went during the test run to the inlet. |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
I'll let you know when we splash it. The boat is at the rigging shop, haven't gotten any pics lately. When I get over there, I'll take some. Don't worry..................................... I won't keep ya hangin.

Re: New SB 30 ordered
Cool, thanks!
We depart this week - see you on Friday for delivery! We're still on track, can't wait! |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Make sure you tell John " if Rick
doesn't come, I'm not ordering that twin Y2K next year" thats the only way he's giving me the day off. Looking forward to finally meeting you and Ruth Ann. HAve a safe trip up here. You wouldn't believe the Hot Toddy Run today. 100 boats ran from the Robert Moses Bridge to West Hampton and back (100 miles easy) AWESOME SIGHT. |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Well folks, the time is here. We're on the road today to take delivery! This Friday Oct 15 we'll be with JC and Rick for a long awaited shakedown. Thanks to all of you for the support - this is not the last post you can be sure! We still have lots of boating weather in Texas, so we'll post some pics soon of her in action (still bikini weather here for a while no less!! :)).
We're looking forward to the CT River run too on Sat - hope the weather gods smile on us all! Look for posts next week after the road grime gets washed off! K&RA 2005 Superboat 30 Y2K "Once Bitten" |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Keith, I'm hoping John will give me the day off ( or part of it ) to do the shakedown. I'm crossing my fingers. We have 2 more Y2K orders, so were alittle busy right about now.

I hope all went well with JC and FX today!
See You in the am... :drink: |
Re: New SB 30 ordered
Yes it's official!!! Money and keys have exchanged hands! What a day, and I still haven't even splashed her yet!! After several necessary adjustments to the trailer (= duct tape and extra 2x4's to accomodate BOTH steps in the hull), a few quick and simple repairs from John and Rick, the dang rain came on strong! :(
We messed around in the shop long enough to get everyone comfortable with everything, and even had a great lunch by the water (thanks again JC!). What can we say?? She is AWESOME. Fit and finish is great, and there were no surprises. We are on overload right now, and I still haven't been behind the wheel other than to fire the engine in the driveway. We'll post more very soon - all I can say is nice work Superboat!! It's off to the CT River run early in the morning, as long as the weather holds and my work doesn't call me more tomorrow, we'll hopefully be able to splash and dash! |
