Same power rating as the standard #7M. The #7MB drive is the same just a different housing and such to accomodate a Bravo propeller.
Should be testing mid next week. |

I warranty the #7M at 850 hp for one year. Fortunately or Unfortunately very few of the applications have been at that level Everyone has been greater than the 850 by a large margin. But no problems so ??
Hulls: (single engine applications) Oke Mannefelt (sp), Eliminator Cat, Dominator Cat, Velocity, Active Thunder, a pontoon boat , Sunsation, Donzi, got a commercial dive boat with a Yanmar 440, got a few commercial fishing boats in Canada..... |

man that's fast.
How was the cruise speed and getting up on plain? what was involved in the prop change? I thought Bravo and Herring were seperate animals. |
Cool :D

Tom, the cruise speed 4000 at 70-72 mph, plaining no problem. No big deal with the prop, herring also makes bravo type props like we were using.

Hay everyone!
Again this question is for RIK... How does the transom notch on the y2k effect the install? Must it be removed? |

THanks for the reply

No problem

You do not have to remove the notch, as what we do on the stagger engine applications, the box will hang down into the notch area, but not the entire notch area. Just make a filler for this area where the box extends downward from and that is all that is neccessary.

Hmmm Interesting

That only a small filler piece would be needed to cover the small section of the box that goes down below the notch.

Rick, I guess thats a quick job ??? Please explain a little more.:D
Basically, the box does not need to be mounted on the running surface, rather several inches above it and depending upon the transom angle of the boat, the height ranges so to speak. The portion of the box, once the box is mounted at the correct height, that would protrude below the notch is all that would need a filler piece so to speak. |

I have been looking and talking about them, but I want a drive I can kick the **** out of without any worrys. Hey Rik how is your new drive coming along, photos, speed info, type of boats using them ??
Photos.... Hell that is like asking for $$ from people. The simplist things are the hardest to get from people. I ask, I ask, I wait.. This weekend should provide feedback from two of the three though. |

Hay RiK I owned a Blackhawk Edition Donzi 22 for a while. Makes me wonder with the reduced blade diameter of the bravo props what ya think of a counter-rotating dual prop setup Arneson drive??? Would that achieve better bite? Again the availability of props comes to mind as well as there expense. Maybe a great next project:rolleyes: |

Slow to get results. Three customers have them, one blew his engine before he got a chance to try it, another one that was going to try it the day he got it won't be able to test till this weekend, and the third over anxious customer has yet to install it.. Maybe he will test this week?

I have a feeling that this drive might bring you to the tripple digit mark. ;) And Gary, I can see the Rooster Tail from here. LOL

Any word from Rik?? Updates?

I am confused. Why do people not use their boats after Labor day? It's like a light switch turned off.
To date, only one sea trial. A lot more bow lift (28' Party Cat, 10,000 lbs) needs more pitch and a 5 blade but for the first test it was very positive. Problem is eventhough it is warm, call it hot, people don't want to run the boat in Sept. ???? Hopefully the others will get the boats wet but I am at the mercy of others at this point. Please stay tuned. |
10000lb Party Cat !! Whats it made of bricks !! We need a V bottom comparison.

Please stay tuned. I'm not sure about where your at but in my area it's time to break out the dirt bikes and Jeeps ect. It's too hot in the summer for this stuff here. We can boat year round out here though since we only get down in the 60's avg. I never understood the on/off thing either. |

Maybe I'm spoiled since I boat year round but the two of the three are in a warmer climate than I am. Kids in school no more boating? |
