I was told yesterday that Holley over jets the carb slightly to make sure that there is no chance of leaning out the motor and causing damage. I am not sure about this as a fact. We did drill out my air flow orifices to allow more flow on the high end.


I don't know what you are running, ut when we started working on the carbs with the dyno we only gained about 15 hp and 20lbs of torque on a large displacement motor. I don't know if you would be able to tell the difference if you were tuning the engines in the boat? Also I don't know for sure that you would get as much gain on a smaller displacement like a 502 or 454.

THat is just my thought with extra knowledge from yesterday. I am sure i will learn more today as we had a ignition problem with the port motor last night when we first tried to fire it.

I am changing plugs first. I think that is what it is.
