I look at almost every place there is to sell a boat, and I don't beleive that I have seen it advertised anywhere. Oh well. I guess that is why they sell so well.:party-smiley-004: |

CONROE, Texas -- A police officer fighting with a suspect ended up shooting and killing the man, officials told KPRC Local 2 Tuesday.
Investigators said the struggle occurred at about 5:30 a.m. when the officer came upon three men trying to steal construction materials in the 2000 block of Doolan Street in Conroe. Construction material theft is a booming business in Conroe, according to police, so the officer took the time to check out new homes going up in the Stewart's Forest subdivision. "As he came up the street, there his headlights fell on three men grouped around this pile of plank siding. They were hurriedly loading it in to a truck that later turned out to be stolen," said Sgt. Bob Berry with the Conroe Police Department. When the policeman tried to arrest them, he called for backup as the men scattered, according to authorities. "He did check out with dispatch that he was out and on some subjects. During the course of that time, all the officers were en route," Berry said. The officer chased one of the men into some woods next door. According to authorities, when he caught him, there was a fight. Detectives said the suspect took the officer's pepper spray and used it on him, and that he then tried to grab the policeman's pistol. "He was in danger at that point. He was sprayed with the pepper spray. He was partially disabled and he had no other choice to save himself but to use deadly force," Berry said. The suspect was shot once, officials said. He died later at a Conroe hospital. His name was not released. A second suspect, Javier Vasquez Jr., was picked up a short time later about a mile away. The third man is still at large.
