Buy it. Bring it home on the trailer and put it at the resale lot for 14999. Probably burn more fuel that that bringing it home though.

It ran ALOT stronger. I don't exactly how much top end, if any I gained. I only ran it to 3900-4000 grand. It was 10 p.m. when I was heading home. But I definately felt it come out of the hole better. I'm pretty exicited, since I've never turned a wrench on the motors and it's been time to do some maintence on her. Jeff's helping me order new coils and other "stuff" to get her back where she needs to be...so hopefully she'll be ready for next weekend.

Other thatn timing being off 5 degrees on 1 motor, and having rust in the spark plug boots, and missing a flange gastket under the carb. I'd say they were actually in real good shape.

He will be taking the demo ride in his future rig. :violent-smiley-045:

It depends on bad it was leaking. If it is minor, than you can adjust it out and you would never notice. Usually they whistle real loud thugh. It's OK it's fixed now.

im looking for something in the 28 to 30' range.

Really like the 28 Sonics and the 31 scarab excel.

No joke, Reggie Fountain maintains that the huge trim tabs he puts on the newer Fountains adds to the boats "effective length" - send off to Fountain for one of their DVD's and listen to it! Also you could get more effective length and speed with extension boxes.

And I'll guess you'll be glad to have another place to haul another one of your "classic" ,"old school", "fixer uppers", "sure looks good on a trailer", and "I'll just go buy another boat for Hodges to work on and never run projects"!
