Stay Away From 6.0 This Is The Last Year For Motor...ford Is Coming Out With A 6.4...6.0
Had To Many Issues ...mainly Turbo Carbon Problems
When Prolonged Idling..ford Has Taken Care Of Them Though...just Keep In Mind...check With Local Dealer For Details

Well,
All I can say is that my 1995 7.3 PS with 118,500 miles has NEVER broken down on me, has TOWED all my boats and has been a great truck. Like I said earlier, too late now, got the 06, and she is sitting in the driveway. And I don't do prolonged idleing, and now that the 6.0 PS has been out for 4 years, I would think that Ford/IH would have most of the "Bugs" worked out of it. I would be more leary of buying the "New" IH engine next year because of the same "Teething" problems that all manufacters go thru when they release new engines.

Unfortunately, the warranty will probobly expire, (time wise) as the truck sits in our driveway. Our Boat sits on the lift, and I drive my beater car to and from work. We've had the 06 for a month now, and it has 300 miles on it!
Dean

just buy a old dually and drop a 540 in it, saves on payment and insurance, put the money in the tank.

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ Look here and see all the complaints and tsb's on whatever you drive. I have told the dealer about tsb's I found on here for my own ford! Man the problems got fixed a lot faster.

I have a good friend that has a 06 king ranch. It shut off the first week and stayed in the shop for 30 days . Ends up something about the injectors and the computer shut it down.

A month ago It shut off again . they kept the truck for 2 months . the oil pump went out. They couldn't figure out why??

Now he is scared of the truck now, don't know when its going to put him down on the side of the road out of town again.

he's not real happy and was talking about traded it in on a Chevy, but he had so many rebates with the Hurricane rebates it ended up being 13 k off.

He test drove the new 06 Chevy and said it was stronger than the Ford he has .

good luck

My buddy also has an 06 F-250 king Ranch 4x4 diesel. It has failed to start twice. But if he cycles the ignition a few times it fires right up. No codes on the computer, so dealer can't/won't do anything

I also have the 360/660 GMC, and it is stronger than my Ford F250. Up to 90mph about a truck and a quarter in front. Dont care for the Allison tranny, small wheels and the suspension sucks when towing emty and anything over 10k pounds. The problem is when unloaded its quick, but when loaded with identicle trailers and being 1000 pounds lighter it makes torque differently and on highway speeds the Ford outpulls it, every time. Cant figure it out, the Ford is rated at 570 tq, they must be sand bagging, both have 3.73 gears. Jeff
