Default XDR requires relocation of Spare?

Anyone with a short bed 2500HD (2006+), did you have to relocate the spare tire in order to get the XDR to fit? I'm trying to install an XDR on mine and got up under there and saw that the tire would likely need to be moved.

Thanks,
John

I have an '06 2500

I didn't have to move the spare, it fit great...

I weighed the rig Saturday and it was 18,600# w/ truck, trailer and boat...

You should just be able to drop the spare tire to install the hitch, and then bring the spare back up when finished. My two Putnams did not take up any more real estate than the stock ones the replaced; for the most part. (One on 2500 Avalanche; one on F-350 Dually)

245 only is not a problem.
I know for a fact a 265 won't fit under a shortbox because it hits the rear diff cover not the hitch.

just general info.

a 265 on a long bed will clear everything, on a short bed the 265 may be an issue

Here's what my hitch says? I'm guessing I have both using the drawbar? Should I still get rid of this and go with the Putnam XDR hitch?
