I passed a guy on the highway last summer on the way to the lake pulling a 46 Black Thunder. He had an f250 diesel but I think he was wishing he had the dually 3500. Plus he was definately in Ticket territory if Cop wanted to hassle him or he got in a wreck.

I use a 3500 SLT SRW with the cummins to pull my Apache and she weighs a lot ( depending on fuel level 12,500-13,500 with trailer). The Dodge is nice because it has a tighter turning radius and is much more nimble in the City.

And there's the catch. Many trucks will "pull" the load. The problem comes in handling and stopping the load. And, if you are involved in an accident while towing something that large, you can bet the insurance company will investigate to assure that your rig was capable of handling that much weight.

I've never towed with a 3500 SRW truck but I can attest to the way my dually handles. My wife had no issues towing our previous rig. The added suspension and larger brakes really make the difference.
