all 3 are good trucks...dont see how you could go wrong with any of the choices. if shopping used..your better off taking the approach of NOT being brand loyal and look for the cleanest best deal you can find. in the past past 12 months i have went from Dodge, to Chevy, back to Dodge. personally, i like the CTD

Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel 6 Speed Manual trans. Most common "hot shot" truck for a reason. Most reliable. Pulls like a freight train. Not overpriced. Dare to compare. What do 90% of semi trucks have? A inline 6 and a manual trans! Semi's keep america rolling. Stick with the Dodge!

I have run across several 2008 fords that I would be very happy with. I am just scared of the issues I have read about. Are the engine issues as common as they appear?

You should be able to get the fords for damn near free. I had to give away my 6.0 on trade. 2011 Fords are great, but stay away from the 6.0 and 6.4. junk, and you wont be able to get rid of it later.

Edit: Not my truck, don't know the owner, but if I was looking I would consider the above.
