Boat weighs 10 grand.
4402,

What boat do you have? Fountian said my 32 is 7200 dry, have you ran your boat and trailer across a scale?

If the boat is 10K I would think with trailer / fuel/etc you would be over 12K no problem.

boat weighs 7 from what nada says. Mine is 91 29 fever with twins. Trailer weighs 2500 so boat and trailer dry is 9500. lubricants and half tank of gas about 10 grand. Which believe is right because a guy on here with a 94 I think weighed his boat and it came out to about ten grand. Truck weighs 5 an some change woul have to look at the door sticker. I beleive its 5200

Looks like some bad carbon build up after 55K miles.

So is Ford though, I'll stick with displacement over charged for towing unitl the Ecoboost has shown it's real colors after many miles of towing heavy loads. not a few thousand.

I had displacement in a chevy junk. Also had a diesel and let me tell you this ecoboost will outperform just about anything. Guess what it has a warranty, let it it blow up I dont care

The tranny problem has been resolved and very few complaints about it on the ford forums also note the trans pump issues affected all the f150's not just the eco-boost.

Displacement is great-Im a fan myself with a 406 SB and an 8.3 litre V10 in my boat.

HOWEVER performance based on displacement only is dynamic in that at 6K feet you effectively have less and at 6K feet and in hot weather you get lose even more.

Under these conditions the eco-boost will give you a full 7 litres+ of displacement with the turbos "making up" lost and thin air.

It's about the amount of air & fuel you can get into, burn completely, and out of the engine vs how large it is.

Other than the the tranny issues I havent found a single blown up engine on any of the Ford truck threads, or SHO threads. There are guys on farms with these things towing 14K loads all the time.

I know ford put out a lemon (well navistar did) with the 6.no, or 6.blow diesel, but I think these guys have a winner here with the EB.

I think a lot of people are hard to get off their old ways of big V8's and diesels. And I was a skeptic at first too. Ford has sold these things like hot cakes, and if they were junk you would be seeing them back at the lots used, but you are not. In the last 4 years I have had a new chevy half ton and two Ford Diesels and 07 and 08, and this Ecoboost blows the half ton out of the water and is either the same or better than the diesels in just about every category. Towed my 10k boat HONEST there was no difference than in my diesel.

I posted earlier my buddy lost his tranny due to the cooler pump issue. Not true. Tranny was fine. It did spring a leak while running down the road so he thought he lost the tranny. Tranny was fine. Just took a couple weeks to get a new cooler pump and he is back on the road. Loves the truck. I plan to drive it here soon and will compare it to my old 2500HD Dmax. I'm afraid to drive it for fear of calling my dealer and ordering a new truck!
