Just wanted to chime in. From first hand experience with towing with my f150 I can vouch that you can tow your 32 sensation easily with the ecoboost max tow. I have a 2011 fx4 5.0 ( 5.0 is not available in max to) with 3.73 rear. I towed an 8,000 lbs trailer from new jersey to Baltimore md last year with zero issues at all. The trailer sway control on the ford is also the most advanced of all the 1/2 ton trucks so when you are on the open road you truly will have to look to make sure your trailer is still there. This is my first hand experience and I hope it helps. Also the 1/2 ton trucks have come such a long way in the last 5-8 years. The f150 max tow I believe is over 3,000 lb pay load. That is very good for a 1/2 ton truck. I think you will love yours as much as I love mine !

That said I know I want the package if I can find it. But if I can't, will one without it tow my 32 Sunsation with twin small blocks okay? Using the dry weight of 6500 and accounting for trailer, gear, fuel and crew I'm still good technically.

Of course an F-250 would be better but I drive 27,000 miles a year and only tow to a couple poker runs. It is usually in the slip.

Just curious what the Eco Boost guys think.
Sorry this is after the fact, but I'm just reading this thread now for the first time. Congrats on your new F150 Eco. You will love it. I am, 2+yrs, in an '11 F150 Eco 4x4 crew 6ft bed 355 rear truck. I tow a Formula 272SR1 at 5750lb dry add 800+lbs of fuel, a couple hundred lbs of gear and a 1700+lbs steel tri-axle. North of 8000lbs and the truck effortlessly tows. I came from an F250 7.3 diesel 4x4 crew single rear wheel and there is no mistaking that my Eco truck is definately a half ton in the suspension department but as far as power, its up to the job, in fact, I enjoy towing with it. I read somewhere on here where someone said it could use another leaf, and I agree it would help it to not feel so much like a half ton when towing, but it is and I knew that when I bought (leased) it. So, in my experience with this truck, my old truck and towing a similar load to yours, I think you will be fine regardless of the 373/355 optioned rear. Enjoy your new truck, its sharp!

Thanks bud! Looking forward to my first tow with it. So far the gas mileage is way far off of advertised. I do 70% highway driving and my average is 15 MPG calculated. It's brand new so hopefully she'll loosen up some after the first oil change. That said, I really like the truck and no regrets so far.

Ford is having serious issues with the Eco motor. Stick with the v8 if it ain't too late.

You have data to support his. 25k miles on mine runs like a top. Know 3 other guys with them and no issues. The issue you are probably reffering to is lack of power due to water in the watercooler, which has yet to be proven to affect a large amount of truck.

34k on mine, no issues. I've also been told that on EB's made after May 2012, the issue has been resolved.

As for mileage, you will find the seewt spots if you monitor the real time mileage gauge. Mine seems to be the worst at 80, but is much better at 78 and/or 82...The best is speeds between 60-70 on the Hwy. Mid 60's will put the mileage into the 20's all day. (Mine is an FX4, 3.73 rear)

Good luck with the new ride!

I am noticing that having the AC on will drop the MPG around 1 MPG. Either that, or the intercooler really doesn't like 85+ degree weather.

thats typical with any vehicle with AC on or close to it. Its tru that AC sucks gas, but its been proven having your windows down sucks even more gas.
