Not sure exactly where you are at either but I have seen a few trucks come into our shop with sticky thermostats.........If your SCT never shows any temps out of range then I would guess faulty sensor too but now that it is starting to get warm, it could be unmasking a stuck thermostat that didn't show itself during the colder months.

Id think if it was a faulty T stat ( stuck closed ) that the truck would over heat but it does not,,,,,anyway going to replace it anyway

Thinking back, there was one time I saw that light come on. It had actually thrown the electronic clutch off the fan and left a dent in the hood. Ripped wires out of the plug, and by the top of the hill, she was HOT!!.
Besides that one time, my 6.0L only had smell sensors. When I smelled coolant, it was always blowing out the degas bottle, which meant it was time to change head gaskets again.. So I would switch it back to economy tune to save money for another set...

I'm interested in what the issue is. Recently had a friend that had this issue. Problem with the factory gauges is that they only tell you when something has gone drastically wrong....aka when its too late. keep us updated!
