Yeah I was talking to him about this last week and again on Sunday. Just sounded crazy to me to be running 36° timing with the boost cranked way up like that. He did say it was hard to start there, but it ran great. My fear was (is) that he very seldom pushes the boat and wasn't actually seeing much (if any) boost so the engines were 'safe' at that timing... until the day he decides to push it, and I'm sure he'd never hear the detonation in that thing!

Anyway, back to the Apache! Hoping the tweaks get done this week and the boat is back in the water soon Mike!

Sick Stinger 06-25-2014 01:18 PM

Thanks kev, mushroom cleats, grab handles, and cabin door just can back from coating. Will be installed over the weekend. Taking the CC out tonight. I will have most back togather Friday night.

congrats mike awesome sounding boat, good luck with her

Sick Stinger 06-28-2014 10:24 PM

Another sol did afternoon/night put into it. Mushroom cleats are on. Put the cabin interior back together. Grab handles are done. Had to rebuild trim rams on drive they were real tight drives didn't want to trim under load. Cabin door is also in. Probably my favorite part of the boat thus far. Hit it hard again tomorrow doing fuel system reply finish the lite wiring, had to build spacers bezels would not clip in due to coushin thickness. That's the upday. Same channel tomorrow.

That's where I run mine.

What range plugs do you like? 8's? 9's?

Unlimited jd 07-09-2014 04:20 PM

Depends on the engine and heads. For mikes iron heads on these 454's prob 9's. Same setup with aluminum 8's. More boost and aluminum heads 9's

Sick Stinger 07-09-2014 05:29 PM

Motors are at 32 full adv

Short clip from Nickotine, back seat was out due to a bad fuel reg I was swapping out. Boxer Surphen had a friend with a speed shop who had the reg. kept me in the run that's to all.

Is it running good now?

You did a good job. I always likes your particular boat.
