This should never have been posted.
100% agree

I would think that maybe in those 35 years in business the service

for the scan tool?

I don't know! Maybe it's just me!

Castle Marine Outlet dropped the ball. Period.
Did you completely read the dealers response ? He said they asked Willy to bring the boat back numerous....NUMEROUS times. He refused. How did they "drop the ball" ?

Willy, and a few of you others kinda remind me of people who send their dinner salad back 4 times.....because the lettuce isn't all the same size.

My take is the buyer has and had an attitude and tried to strong arm the dealer. The dealer realized this guy was never going to bring the boat in for service, nor buy another boat or anthing else. So the dealer cut him loose.
The customer is not always right.
By the remarks in this thread, the dealer got some free positive advertising.

Kind of like buying a toaster at Walmart, taking it home and calling them up to refund your money without taking the toaster back to the store.

Yes , but they wanted to charge me on the repairs. Which I was able to do myself. So why the **** would I pay them to fix a boat that wasn,t 100% ready the first time. BTW they are an 1hr away from me . Also tinman how could they fix it they couldn't connect to the computer.

If you wanted a boat that was 100% ready then you should have bought something newer than 8 years old. And as for the other comment about you eating the converter, I bet that had the customer brought back the part that you would have collected from the mfgr. So you ate it not by choice. And it's still apples and oranges.

Look, you bought on the cheap and expect the dealer to stand behind an 8 year old boat that you didn't buy any warrenty on. What if your customer told you to install a used converter and then it failed, would you install a new one after that for free? I doubt it seriously. GET OVER IT!

It was 100% ready the first time....YOU TOOK IT FOR A SEA TRIAL RIGHT ? (and it must have ran great)

You must have been happy with it....CAUSE YOU BOUGHT IT !!

You put 4 hours on it before (unlucky for you) something happened to it. So, it seems like when it left their possession, all was well. Later on, a problem occured, and they wanted the boat back so they could look at it. You decided to fix it yourself, and by doing so, inherited the problem. Its not the dealers fault you live an hour away.

Look at it from their point of view...they dont know what you did with the boat after it left their lot....or how you drove it for those 4 hours. How do they even know for sure that you had these problems that your trying to get paid to fix (you never took the boat back to them) ? Buy a USED car from a dealer, then call him up later and tell him the trannie is bad, but your not bringing it back so he can see it....then tell him you want the money cause you fixed it yourself. I'll bet he hangs up on you.
