i replaced the teak cooler and sink tops with black plexiglass. not too happy with the v birth. upholstery guy didnt get it stretched tight enough and he didnt sew the "1" seam the way i wanted:rolleyes:
had new panels made out of brushed stainless w/screen printed lettering, toggle switched, boots, and blue indicator lights. had to use red indicator lights for the ac breaker switched because i couldnt find blue ones. |
Very nice, need better pics though.... :)
|
That is awesome great job!
|
Great job Steve. Looks like a Silver Bullet should. Did you have the stitching done local?
|
i removed all the pieces and had a shop in Kansas City do them over the winter. Alot cheaper then shops at the lake and the quality is very good.

Hi Ludde! VERY nice looking boat! Also love the paint!
Did you have some kind of clearance problem and need the scoops, or are they for looks? I have B & M 250 blowers that fit under a stock hatch - just barely :) |

I called the guy that has it listed (not the actual owner) on this Bullet. Boat is still in CA and he was merely hitting the boating hot spots (LOTO, FL, etc.). Sounds like when he had it listed before, he wasn't totally comitted to selling, but that's changed now and he wants to move it.

That is a great price on a beautiful boat. :D

That sounds like a sweet deal with the 500's !!!

Hi Hollowpoint! I used my friends login last time. Now I have my own. Fun that u liked the grafics, Id sanded of the old one and then put on som tapegrafics, that I bougth from raceline digital. I put on the scoops because, I had redone the HP 465 motors and put on weiand blowers (only 144īs). Unfortunatly I blow one engine up! Total disaster!!! So this winter I installed twin 598īs at each 765 hp. /Mad Max
|
Can you post some pics of the new engines? Sweet! Have you got the engines and props dialed in yet? What speed are you running with those engines?
I'm only running about 550HP a side and long for more. |

Anybody know where the circuit breaker or fuse is for the head? Had a shop rebuild the macerator, and they were supposed to check the head, but I cant get the thing to work at all, no noise, nothing. My 8 year old had to "go" over the side. I have the owners manual and they mention the breaker, but doesnt list where its at. Trying to get out over the long weekend, but w/ no $hitter, that might limit the beer count.
|
The power for the macerator comes off of the port battery breaker to a fuse that is on the bulkhead (in behind the steering wheel). Access through the hatch below the steering wheel.

We got it fixed. I figured it was something simple, when the previous owners painted the helm, they left the door open under the steering wheel, and oversprayed the fuse block. New fuse block fixed it. Unfortunately I may have to sell her, havent put it up on OSO classifieds yet, but it should be up in a day or so. Nothing wrong with the boat, I just need to expand my company's building, and cubicles and phone systems and everything else we need to put in is going to drain the budget. So if anyone's looking: Residual Image is a 1988 Cigarette 31 Bullet, Hull number 12, running rebuilt 454's, Stainless Marine Exhaust, with Bravo 1's, she runs about 70-75 mph, excellent condition, have recent survey onfile. She's on a Heritage drive on trailer. I still have the original Gaffrigs on the panel, was planning on Livorsi guages and a Northstar 550plotter in place of the compass. But if anyone is interested I can install whatever they like prior to purchase. I really hate to see her go, I barely got to know her. |
What does a Bullet weigh and how much fuel does it carry?

Unless I'm mistaken, it weighs 8,800 lbs. dry, and has two tanks that hold 90 gals. each for a total of 180.

Why does a Bullet weigh 1600 pounds more than a 32 Fever?? I'm suspecting thicker.
|
According to the info from Cig, they are 9,800lbs dry, and all 31 ft.

I have an original 1988 Bullet brochere and it lists the the weight as
"8000lbs (approx)" I take that to probably be the minimum dry weight with stock power and bravo drives. TRS drives will be more. |
Nova26,
If you are looking at possibly going up in size and you are looking at Cig and Fountains, both have their strong points. The Bullet will be slower, but, IMHO, can take larger seas better. Fountain will be faster with the same power though. You can't go wrong with either. |
Not to beat a dead horse, but my owner's manual states Displacement (approx.) ......9,500 lb. I don't have the membership to post a picture, but I can scan and email if someone wants the page.

What years did they make the Bullet?
|
1st year was 1988 and I think the last year was like 1994, but I may be off by a year. Total production for all years was like 60 some.
|
I think 68 were made.
