The yellow & blue one in NY that Vincent painted is one of my all time favorite bullets!

carter38 10-31-2008 02:46 PM

That is still cheap for a running bullet.

Keytime 10-31-2008 05:38 PM

They're coming out of the woodwork!!

Beautiful boats, but I just can't see getting $69k or $80k for those in this market. Hope they do, though!

,

I agree. Also, my 2 cents...that is one ugly interior in the third one.

Hollowpoint 11-03-2008 01:56 PM

Since the Bullet thread made it to the front page again, AND since the boating season is over I think I'll ask again for all Bullet owners to send me their info to create a database for the production of the Bullets.

The response last winter was so poor I gave it up. My intent is to have the yearly production shown with as few holes as possible. I do not intend to post it on this (or any other) site and was going to only make it available via email to any legitimate owner of a Bullet. In addition to showing the production, I'm hoping that the engine, drive and prop info will help anyone considering mods to assist with prop selections, dialing in, and speed expectations. Also, if people list mods, it could help other owners if they plan to attempt the same mods and want to talk to someone who's been there, done that.

Anyway, 68 is not that high a production number and I'm confident that with people giving me the info, I can come up with a decent chronology for the production run. Please either PM me your info or email it to me at [email protected]
I would also appreciate those who do not wish to provide all the info to at least send me their HIN number to "fill in" the database hole. Thanks for any help you guys can provide. Maybe it'll keep me out of the garage some this winter.....

Any name you chose (real or nickname) but prefer real
email address (optional)
General boating area (ie Keys, LOTO, Hampton Roads, etc)
Phone Number (optional)
HIN number (must have)
year
power
drives
props
Speed
Mods and or upgrades and as much history as you care to provide
1 or 2 pics of boat

What work did the $25k Bullet need? Should be a fast Bullet with blowers, I'd think. 80?

It's sad when a Cig gets a 1/2-arse paint job.

Hollowpoint 11-12-2008 04:46 PM

Keytime, you still thinking of a Bullet? I think the one in Hartford sounds like a good deal. Just check out the engines and get a survey.

Speed wise, it depends on the boost it's running. You should be able to ballpark it with the props. If it can pull 28P Bravos, it should be close to 80. I'm 27P Mirages and should be mid to upper 70's with 6 lbs boost, but I still have some dialing in to get there.

Guys, I'm still trying to get Bullet info for the spreadsheet. At least send me your HIN or hull number.

Thanks

Oh, I'm always keeping my options open, and I really dig the Bullets, but not shopping too hard right now. Just keeping my eye on the market for future reference. But if the right boat came along for the right price, who knows. Getting experience with the Check right now and having a great time.

Still having problems getting info for the Bullet spreadsheet?

How many rpm are you turning those 27s? Is yours a bravo or trs boat, those 27s are they mirage or mirage plus?:ernaehrung004:

Hollowpoint 11-16-2008 09:36 AM

Plain Mirage on Bravo drives. Tachs are originals and don't seem that accurate AND jump around alot, but I'm guessing I'm turning between 5000 and 5100 right now. The drives and props are not in very good shape, but my priority is getting one engine rebuilt over the winter (oil pressure drop and metal in the filter).

Thanks. I was just curious because my boat is a trs and really likes the three blades. im running a mirage plus 27 at 5200 and it will run 79 in smooth water but takes big water to get it to run fast with the four blades.

Hollowpoint 11-17-2008 06:52 AM

Well, at least I've had more luck than last year getting info, but am still under 10.

Cmon guys, at least your hull number :)

Hollowpoint 12-02-2008 09:00 AM

Safesea, what model Cig do you have?

What's the boating scene like where you live? Many Cigs?

slangen 12-16-2008 12:38 PM

Hi Hollowpoint!

Ive sent you mail with some Bullet info.

Best regards
Niklas Sweden

Hollowpoint 12-16-2008 07:14 PM

Thanks Slangen, got the info.

OK you guys, I now have 2 out of country entries, which is about 25% of my total.

How about some posts guys! Or PM me!

BRlink, lakeluvr, Carter, 5050, Cigboat, DORaymond and many others on this site, please help out if possible.

lakeluver, Carter, and 5050 are all trying to sell theirs. They probably don't want to tempt fate. :cool-smiley-011:

Hollowpoint 12-17-2008 07:44 PM

I would think that's stretching superstition to the max. And if they are/do sell, I don't see how it would be any skin off their backs by giving me the info. I'm sure every Bullet owner that goes to this site has seen my request and knows what I'm trying to do. I was just hoping for a little more enthusiasm from Cig owners. I guess I'll keep plugging away. This may become like a ten year project.....

If anyone doesn't want to give me the info, please PM me and I promise not to bug you anymore.

And to all those trying to sell, good luck. I always talk up Bullets, not necessarily to sell yours, but because I love mine and think they are probably the best way to enter the Cig family for those on a budget :)

Hollowpoint 01-05-2009 05:15 PM

OK, I'm trying to at least keep this on the front page. I haven't gotten a single response since Slangen. Come on guys! At least send your HIN nos.

Thanks DORay, I really appreciate the info. Nice looking boat. Was your cockpit already white gelcoat or did you have it painted? Isn't there another 1988 Bullet that lurks in your area?

DORaymond 01-11-2009 07:12 PM

THanks Hollowpoint - no, the cockpit was always white, but the interior was redone about 5 years ago.

I think cig1988 (Stan) is in my area - have yet to meet him or see his boat.

Well, zero PM's or emails since DORaymond. Stiil trying to collect info guys!

How many do you have now?

How many do you have now, and have you posted a partial list anywhere?

Hollowpoint 02-09-2009 09:59 AM

No, I haven't posted the list anywhere and wasn't planning too. My only plan for distribution is to provide it via email to any known Bullet owner that requests it. I didn't want to provide the info to just anyone. I thought I had already stated that a while back.

I have complete info on 8, and some/partial info on like 10 more. The 10 partials are all from this site that are known Bullet owners and pretty much just have a year, the user name, and location I got off their avatar. Chris, if you want I can send you a copy in excel format. Just send me a PM.

I CERTAINLY COULD USE AN INFUSION OF MORE INFO!

By the way, splashed the bullet Sunday, she ran flawlessly! damn it feels good not to break something! Found the sandbar at Lake Maurepas, b**chin party! Heres a tame shot.
